Hey everyone, it's another Thursday so it's about time to make my first Splinterlands blog post for this week, but first of all, welcome back to my Splinterlands blog! Here I will be making at minimum two Splinterlands posts every week because It's fun making then plus it helps to buy new cards, because the good ones are not cheap!
When you're a Splinterlands player or only interested in the game and don't know: The Splinterlands Team is making weekly challenges for players to participate in, with it you can earn nice rewards in the form of Hive Backed Dollar you can use to buy cards or SPS with (tip: swap HBD to DEC with Hive Keychain!) and the Hive Power is best to keep staked in your hive account you can use to up vote other people with, giving a small income for both you and the author of the post.
This weeks Splinterlands Social Media Challenge is the same as last weeks:
🔥 Share Your Most Remarkable Splinterlands Moments: Do you possess a battle of epic proportions that deserves to be seen by all? Have you crafted something extraordinary within the Splinterlands realm? Maybe you've got profound thoughts, insights, or strategies related to stats, cards, abilities, or gameplay that are waiting to be shared? We want it all, and we want it to be nothing short of AMAZING!
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, check out the official Splinterlands post here.
So let's get going!
So, two weeks ago I made a post about how to counter one of the Kings of the current meta, Eternal Tofu. It's the most expensive one and also the one I lose the most to when I don't know it's coming, or sometimes in certain ruleset I just don't have an answer to, it's really strong.
There is another King out there though able to summon creatures from the Death and Fire splinters and his name is Lorkus, many players use his powers to just force wins, only relying on his strength and while this can be pretty effective I don't like this kind of game play so I find great joy in countering those players.
Don't get me wrong, Lorkus is a fine card and I wish I owned it and there's nothing wrong with using him when the mana cap and rule sets are good to play him, but spamming him whenever the Fire or Death splinters are open to be chosen from isn't the most fun way of playing I think. 😅
In fact, there's one player with a Bronze deck playing in Diamond, (I won't call him or her out 😆) when I see the player name and the right splinters are open, I know Lorkus will be there...
The price of Lorkus is what is keeping me from buying him, at the time of writing, a Silver level Lorkus (3 Card Copies) is just under $140 and when you only want one copy it's just below $60... wow! I remember him being in the 30's per CC...
Death has always been my go to, countering magic teams before Immortalis and Grandmaster Rathe arrived, and it's good to see the Death splinter still have some nice option for this, with the use of these two specialists
It's easy to fall for the trap to focus on the Super Sneak rule set and protect my rear well and focus on melee units but I've been around a couple of seasons in Praetoria already so that won't work mister! 😉
This is not the player I was talking about but I could see Lorkus is previous battles so it was enough to pick my Lorkus counter...
I love being right, correctly anticipating your opponent already gives you an advantage in the battle, and with so many strong teams to fight against in Diamond with my Silver deck.. I can use advantages!
Putting the Weaver all the way to the back isn't the best choice in a Super Sneak battle, but I'm not complaining... maybe this rule set was overlooked? It happens to me too sometimes... 😏
Silence is an awesome ability and I missed out on previous sets, being too late to find out cards with silence had become really expensive, and for good reason!
I remember I wanted this card but it was over $40 at level 4, but I'm digressing!
Round 1: All enemy magic monsters are back to 1 damage, that's really nice! The aimless makes this a game of fortune though, and both Weavers are busy healing their teams, my Weaver already took two hits, hopefully the aimless attacks will land somewhere else next turn...
Round 2: Whoops, there goes the enemy Weaver, that's really nice, definitely a line-up mistake and maybe a fatal one...
Round 3: My Weaver got hit again... time to kill some more so it can Scavenge some HP!
Round 4: And suddenly things went fast, two kills on the other team and one less demoralize, that's a nice one!
Round 5: And it's over! With my team still completely alive!
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
For some reason my Glint and SPS earnings are lower this season it seems.. more players in Modern League?
That's it for today everyone, thanks for stopping by!
I still have some ranked battles to grind trough, my energy is currently at 22 and I like it to be somewhere around 10 because tomorrow is another workday for me, and I also have to submit brawls on all my accounts, that's quite a lot of work to be done!
If you haven't made an account already, please consider using my referral link to sign up, I'll happily send the amount I get for your signup back to you in DEC or SPS to help you start.
Also, when you require any help to get you started, let me know, I'm here to advice and guide new players and maybe I can help you with card delegations too!
Have a great day!
