Hey everyone, welcome back to my Splinterlands blog, I hope you're as excited as I am about where the game is going, it's all looking so much brighter as a year ago, or two years for that matter... Yesterday I was listening to the latest episode with Gathering the Magic, another great episode and later that day I met Gathering on one of his accounts @jovak, always cool to see other well known veterans on the battlefield, in the podcasts he described himself as a veteran, wanted to guide new players where he can and I never thought about it that way but he's right, I'm from the same era in 2021 when a lot of players joined and I think we can call ourselves veterans at this point, so many hours we dedicated to the game in various ways and growing our accounts.

What a coincidence, we both have gold level decks on this battle, although I think I did see a max Tofu in his previous battles, so I kinda make it to counter a Tofu but he played something entirely different, good thing it still worked... 😅

Weekly Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Conclave Arcana Presale Has Begun!🔥

Enough small talk, let's get on with today's main topic, the long awaited pre-sale of the new splinterlands core set, called Conclave Arcana has started!

In my post last week I already shared the basics how many packs and all that, but we all already know that - the pre-sale was just a day away when I made that post and I didn't had a lot of inspiration to talk about the new set just then because I'm more of the type who responds to things and see how it goes and focus on the here and now, and while many others are fully focused on buying as many pre-sale packs as they can, selling other assets to get more funds together, I like to 'Zig when others Zag' as Dwayne likes to call it, and be the person who buys the assets these players are selling at a discount, like land plots!

As you can see I have been quite busy on expanding my exposure to the Land part of the game, and this doesn't even include three more plots I bought directly from another player, but I'm going off topic again and I already made a post about that, so when you're interested you can read all about that here.

Pre-Sale

So, let's take a look at how the pre-sale is going so far, personally I have bought 10 packs just to show support to the team and to get the guaranteed promo card but as I told before I like to do things different so this isn't my focus just yet, I first want to see what cards are need to have, wait for the hype to settle a little and for the market to get filled with cards so maybe the prices will start to get lower.

BUT it's entirely possible that due to conflicts and the need to stake the cards to the wagons, there won't be much selling, we will see, if that's the case I can always get more packs in the future.

Let's take a look at the packs for sale, with 15 more days left, we started with 500.000 Standard Packs, so far 80.423 has been sold, so that's 321.692.000 DEC, half of it goes to the day, the other half goes do the DAO.

The sale started with 100.000 Alchemy Packs, so far 36.300 have been sold, another 435.600.000 DEC gone from the market.

The Legendary Packs are the most expensive, the sale started with 50.000 of them and so far, 7.709 has been sold, worth 185.016.000 DEC.

This is a total amount of 942.308.000 DEC so far, and when we just count DEC at peg value that's $942k in value already divided between the Splinterlands team and the DAO, maybe I'm doing something wrong because this is already an insane amount of money but I think the numbers are right. 😀

The way how the game and the tokenemics are made, all value will go to the SPS token and it's why next to buying Splinterlands Land plots, I also bought about 9k more SPS in the last week.

What are you most excited about with the release of Conclave Arcana?

The most exciting thing for me is not even the arrival of the new set itself, although it's really really cool with a lot of new features, synergies and new abilities but more the total transformation of the modern format because Chaos Legion is pushed to Wild League now, I'm very excited to see how this goes - how many players will still be playing in Modern, what the rewards will be because the total amount of SPS in the reward pool will be shared with less players so that HAS to mean higher rewards especially in the first weeks for the players that invested in the Rebellion set or until they have build a nice deck for the new set.

I think the chase for the Arcane and Black Foils will be very big and it will bring fomo and excitement, especially when one or two have been pulled and come for sale and people realize how valuable they are, I mean - pulling a very rare card can be life changing money for some people, I hope this will happens for some small players!

Any card art, lore teasers, or abilities you're hoping to see?

Because I'm more the responsive type of player, I like to see where the team comes up with and enjoy it when it comes, the art I've seen so far is really cool and the Painforge together with the Reckless ability seems to work well together, it will be fun testing out all the new possibilities, and probably this will take some months to understand everything because of the depth of strategy in Splinterlands.

I was just going trough my feed on X when I discovered yet another new card I didn't see and while I started with checking out her stats in silver I was thinking.. wait.. that name... wtf.. REALLY!? 😂
It's good marketing of course, but like Bulldog replied why was the name Darth Squirrel an issue?
I guess at Silver level it's a nice card but not at level 1, the Inspire makes it a 2 attack card with reach for 3 mana so that's not bad but I first will see how my team fights with primarily Rebellion and Reward cards plus the cards I will get from my 10 pre-sale packs and make plans from there.

How do you think this set will impact your personal strategy?

Well, it's going to be HUGE, I think it will be for everyone but especially for the players like myself, currently playing with a 'cheap' Chaos Legion set in the upper regions, we can't afford this high level play anymore so we will be forced to play in the lower leagues or transfer to Wild League.
I want to keep participating in Modern League myself, and I was a Silver player for most of my Splinterlands career anyway so I don't mind at all, and because I'm not the only one facing this problem, I hope and expect the lower leagues will be player by a lot more people again.

Currently I'm manually playing two accounts in Diamond, this will change to only one manual account and leave the other one to XBOT in wild, giving me some more time for other things, or maybe bring another account online to help our second guild fill brawl frays as long as this is needed by the lack of enough active players.

Final Thoughts

This set feels like the start of something new and exciting in Splinterlands. I’m ready to open packs, discover new cards, and build some fun new teams. If you're also excited about Conclave Arcana, let me know in the comments!
