T&A Legion II Brawl Results. Few thoughts on "rent to play"

Hello everyone.
So another Brawl Season has just ended. This my second post on this topic and I got an idea that it could be really cool to write about Brawls regularly. It could become something like chronicle.
As we all know Brawls can be very exciting, especially when our guild, or ourselves, are close to beat own records. Sadly brawls results vanish as soon as another Brawl starts.
So chronicle could save those fleeting moments. You know - for the next generations :P

We did pretty nice, I think. We lost just one Win to Immortal Gods. Oh, it was so close!
Congrats for 1st place, Immortals - we will get You the next time! :D
Anyway as you can see there is quite big gap between 1st and 10th place.
Maybe this is time to level up Arena building and move to higher tier looking for some trouble?
Dec-B could help with it a little.

I did it, haha! A flawless victory is always fun. It strokes the ego a bit,
even my inner Devil said, "Ok maybe you are not that dumb in this game, as I thought. But..."
But sadly, I think 50% of my games were against much weaker decks. Rare CL cards in 1 bcx in Silver Fray are not a way to go.
Cheap Chaos Legion cards wont be cheap forever. We are closer to the end of print everyday, as packs are burned. Rebelion will come out late 2023. So Chaos will be a core deck for a long time, almost a year. And February will be the last call for cheap cards. Not to mention that BTC has moved

Anyway - T&A - congratulations and thank you for your effort, brothers in arms :D

I did a little experiment which can change into revolution in my approach to renting in.
I dropped few words about it in my last post HERE
In short - I dont rent cards in usually and play my own cards only. I was preparing to Silver Tourament and I spent around 600 dec to fill some gaps in my deck. Untamed cards mostly. There were some cards like Cornelius or Almio which I used for the first time!
I tested new legedary summoners also - Possibilus and Immoratlis. For silver level only, but it gave me an idea, how these cards can work. Immortalis could be very good, but Possibilus? This summoner is a beast.
This very easy to get used to all these key cards. They raise the ceiling higher. I think we've all experienced it. We can play and be successful up to a certain level. When we get there - we lose and our rating bleeds. It is a barrier of cards we can play and our skills. This also has financial implications as without certain cards we have little chance of winning higher prizes in tournaments and of course we will get less chests in the leaderboards.
But maybe there is a balance. Perhaps you don't need to have ALL the best cards, just a few good enough to give you an edge and take your gameplay to the next level.
Looks like I'm mature enough to test this way. I will share my experience with this experiment, hope you find it interesting.
Splinterlands team shared RoadMap'23 also. It seems that Untamed will be played in Modern far longer that I expected. Im thinking if this is a good idea to move back to buying those cards.

VS Play-2-earn
I was tempted to use cards I rented, obviously. Although we had medium mana I picked Possibilus.
Izgald is one of the best Gladiator card, teamed with Deeplurker and both with Trample? Sounds like Killer Squad.
I picked low hp monsters as a bait, if my opponent would play Deeplurker as well. IG player went with monsters without armor and this is what monsters with opportunity love best.

BATTLE

VS Blesstickles
Here is very similiar team as above. I only replaced Demonshark and Possibilus with cheaper substitutes and saved my damage output monsters. My opponent went standard: BAAKJIRA with Deeplurker replaced with Izglad. This battle shows how important is to team up opportunity/sneak monsters.
Enemy Izglad was fighting my low hp armored monsters most of the time.

BATTLE

The rest of my battles are very similiar to these two. Yea, I overused that setup. Both games with Immortalis are against low level summoners, so not representative.
