Hello everyone! Welcome to another Splinterlands Weekly Challenge and for this week, we will feature Pelacor Arbalest from the Life ELement.
Pelacor arbalest has two abilities namely double strike and flying.
The double strike is available at all levels.
The flying ability is unlocked at level 5.
The ruleset includes:
CLOSE RANGE - Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
ARMORED UP - All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
The mana cap for this battle is 30.
The allowed summoners are FIRE, LIFE, DEATH AND DRAGON.
For my tank, I chose Chaos legion because of its shield and giant killer abilities in case the enemy opt to use 10 plus mana monster.
In my second position, I chose Time mage because of the slow ability which reduces the speed of all enemy monsters as long as it is alive.
On my third position, I chose a neutral monster, Scavo hireling because of its repair ability, which fixes the most damaged armor of my monster.
On my fourth position is our featured card, the Pelacor Arbalest which is my main damage dealer because my Summoner for this battle is General sloan which gives plus 1 range attack.
On my fifth position is Venari crystalsmith which has tank heal ability. It helps my chaos knight stay alive for a long time.
My last position is stitch leech with sneak ability.
Did my strategy work? It did work. The enemy opt to use Mother Khala as his summoner and did not take advantage of the close range rule. One of the best ways to use range monsters is when there is close range rule which allows range attack monsters to hit even when they are in the first position.
What will I try differently next time? I will try to use Pelacor arbalest when there is an equalizer ruleset. This is another ruleset that range monsters are strong. Most of range monsters I think have low health, so equalizer ruleset is favorable for them and for pelacor arbalest as well.
Do I like Pelacor arbalest? I absolutely like pelacor arbalest. He is one of my favorite life monster because of the double strike ability which I believe is one of the strongest ability.
My main problem with Pelacor arbalest is that he has a low health and he is quite slow but with the right ruleset and positioning, he can be of great use and can deal a massive damage to enemy monsters. I think he is really a strong monsters.
