Splinterlands - Making use of the free and fast transactions on the Hive blockchain
Splinterlands and Hive blockchain are living a perfect symbiosis and in time one perfected a smart way to make use of the free and fast transactions that the Hive blockchain offers. As a play2earn blockchain game it was imperative to have proof of action and that was done through submitting different JSON transactions to the blockchain. Not everything needs to be on the blockchain, but tradeable assets and actions earning cryptocurrencies are a must in order to be able at any point to make any claims for your assets. Whatever action I am doing in the Splinterlands realm that requires accountability, all is confirmed on the blockchain in a matter of seconds. This speed is essential for a blockchain game in order to stay longer in the ecosystem and trust it seeing your blockchain transactions processed right away (either if those are IN, OUT or WITHIN the game).
Tradeable NFTs
Every edition card in Splinterlands is an NFT, meaning I have full ownership of it and can trade, sell, or rent it as I see fit. There are also the Soulbound cards which you cannot trade or move them out, but you can still burn or release them by paying a fee in order to become tradeable as well. This adds another level in the strategy of the game, as I can optimize my collection by acquiring the best cards or sell and even rent out those I don’t use. Unlike traditional games where assets are locked within the platform, Splinterlands allows me to truly own my cards and benefit from them in the real-world economy.
Tradeable second layer cryptocurrencies
Splinterlands runs on the Hive blockchain but also has its own in-game economy with multiple tokens like DEC (Dark Energy Crystals) and SPS (Splintershards) which took the shape of second layer cryptocurrencies. These are operating on the Hive-Engine which inherits all the infrastructure and power of the Hive blockchain. This allows me to not only play and earn within the game but also interact with a larger crypto economy without delays or additional costs.
What I can say is that the Hive blockchain provides Splinterlands with the perfect symbiosis and a true blockchain gaming experience, offering free and fast transactions that make every in-game action smooth and cost-effective. The ability to trade NFTs and earn second-layer cryptocurrencies adds another layer of real markets action, allowing players to build, strategize, and profit in ways that traditional games simply cannot offer. This combination of blockchain technology and real ownership is what makes Splinterlands stand out, and I am excited to see how it continues to evolve in the future. You're right. Somehow we tend to underestimate the importance of free transaction. Some times back I wanted to do a 21$ transaction on the Ethereum chain and the network fee was 100$, I had to completely abandon the transaction. Sometimes what should value the feeless transactions we have here.
I also remember in 2021 when we used to work on a platform and it was ethereum, there we had to raise a lot of fees, we have paid 100 dollars, so this is the way we get free transactions. We are much happier.
