Hello everyone and welcome to the Battle Weekly Challenge. This week the challenge is with Deeplurker, a common water element card with the Opportunity ability. This card belongs to the Chaos Legion edition and is part of the Starter cards, so we can use it for free.

This time I had to fight against an opponent who had higher level cards than me. So let's see how the battle unfolded.

Battle Rules

In this case the rules are simple. It is a 40 mana cap battle with the "Weak Magic" rule in which all elements except Fire can be used.

Torhilo the Frozen: In the first position I have decided to use the water tank Torhilo The Frozen. As you know, there is a great synergy when Bortus is used with monsters with the void ability such as Oshannus or Torhilo. I decided to use this combo (Bortus + Torhilo) to beat my opponent as I could see he was playing magic compositions in his last games.

Deeplurker: In the second position I decided to use Deeplurker. In my opinion he fits very well in practically all battles with the Water Splinter, both in high mana and low mana battles. He can destroy enemies in the first turn.

Djinn Oshannus, Ice Pixie and Venari Wavesmith: They are our magic attack monsters. They are in the middle position (3rd, 4th and 5th) to stay alive as long as possible and do as much damage as possible in battle.

Axemaster: In the last position I used Axemaster. His high Speed along with the +2 armor that Venari Wavesmith gives to the team make him a very strong monster in the last position. He can resist/avoid multiple hits from enemy monsters with the Sneak ability as well as deal a lot of damage with his Double Strike ability.

Did your strategy work?

I think my strategy worked well. We have managed to use a varied combination of different types of damage (melee, magic and ranged), and support skills such as Void and Protect that have allowed us to defend our team from the opponent and win without much difficulty.

What will you try differently next time?

Mainly 2 things:

1- Deeplurker's position. Next time I will put him in the third position instead of the second position. I think Djinn Oshannus works better in the second position in this particular compo as he can be used as a second tank while we take more advantage of Deeplurker's potetial.

2- Do not use so much magic attack in battles with the "Weak Magic" rule as it reduces our damage and impact in this type of battles.

Yes, I love Deeplurker. I think it's one of the best cards in Chaos Legion edition. We can use it in almost every water composition regardless of the water summoner we use or the mana cap of the battle. Deeplurker always works !
