Seems like a major jump from the last chapter.
We were expecting Ally and her friend to talk after Ally finishes the work she was given, but this scene opens straights into Earl coming home...
What happened to her Allison's friend, what happened to the drinking party?

I did think about writing that, but in the scheme of the story the party didn't feel it was going to be essential to the overall tale - but we'll see when it's time to redraft
