Ya no hay carreras ni pasos furtivos;
Alma mía se acerca despacio y
Gigante amor le confía su lirio!
Hola otra vez hermosa comunidad.
Clad in ice and walking lightly, my soul,
Fearing they might steal your fire.
Breathe in silence, lest the giant hears,
Remember to pass by, hidden and cautious.
Firm steps the giant carried
And in the storm, he seeks shelter.
He sings in whispers to a lily's shoot,
Lacking its brightness and dying of cold.
The giant does not crush; he cultivates.
In his winter hands, life germinates.
Patiently he waits to find a soul willing to give shelter.
And I, who ran believing I was fleeing
From the monster that once broke my heartbeat,
Completely forgot that that wanderer
Carved the cradle where I was born.
No more running or stealthy steps;
My soul approaches slowly and
Giant love entrusts her with his lily!
Hello again, beautiful community. This time I come with new verses. A little strange, I admit, perhaps because of the intensity with which I wanted to convey it.
Let's talk about love... that giant roaming free who knocks on our door from time to time. How many times have you run away after having your heart broken? We say we become "cold" and even pretend to be insensitive. "Love hurts," some say.
And no, we aren't colder or feeling less. The fear of tearing open old wounds makes us more strategic, more selective, because we know what we can offer and not just anyone has empty hands to receive it and care for it, or care for us.
But sometimes fear blinds us so much that we forget that what we are fleeing from is actually the very refuge that heals us. In the end, stopping the running and daring to offer our own fire is the only thing that allows the most beautiful and unexpected things to bloom.
I leave you with this poem. I hope it resonates with you as much as it did with me when I wrote it.
