HoloZing - Claim Your Free ZING While It Lasts!

It's November already! A new month means a new monthly update of HoloZing from me! Time flies, it's more than 1 year already, how's everyone doing?

• First Major Update

As for the most recent major update, as some of you would know, the Alpha Vials were launched last month. I spent 35.80 HBD to buy 2 of them. You can read about it in my last update here.

• Second Major Update

On 24 Oct, they started dripping 99,000 ZING per day to all Alpha Vial holders! At time of launch, there were about 417 Alpha Vials sold. Based on simple math, 99,000 / 417 = 237 ZING per day! Just to have a sense of the quantum, at current ZING and Hive prices, that's about 0.20 USD, which is 1% of the cost of Alpha Vial!

So for those who bought the Alpha Vials, they benefited by having 1% ROI per day at the launch of the drip! Of course, given that the 99,000 ZING was fixed, as more and more players bought the packs, the daily drop will reduce accordingly. So it really pays to be early!

• Third Major Update

After having bagfuls of ZING for 6 days, two new achievements were introduced for the ZING daily drips, namely referral achievements and contributor achievements. Amendments were also made to the ZING daily drips allocation, with just 90,000 ZING per days for the Alpha Vials (slight reduction from 99,000) and 10,000 ZING for the 3 achievements.

Being someone who likes to crunch numbers and look at data, there were the estimated ZING that I claimed based on my current two Alpha Vials and one achievement. Do bear in mind that these are really just estimates to the best of my ability because the computations can be quite complex.

Notes:
1) 24 Oct was pro-rated as it was launched in the middle of the day (for my local time)
2) 30 Oct saw the switch of the allocation and addition for two extra achievements

While the number will continue to decrease, it's quite amazing that within 8 to 9 days, I have managed to claim an additional 2,433 ZING, mainly due to owning Alpha Vials, and a little more due to change in achievements. 2,433 ZING is worth around 12.30 Hive or 2.20 HBD, so in a way, depending how you see it, I have either generated a return or gotten some form a rebate on my purchase.

I guess the main takeaway is, it definitely pays off to be early in projects!

Of course, no HoloZing update is complete without talking about my ZING stake.

Back to the usual update, as for the rewards, the APR for Staking has come down slightly from 17% to 16% but the APR for HP Delegation surged from 11% to 17%! Thanks to the increase in the price of ZING I suppose.

Over the past month, there were a lot of movements in my ZING holdings and the changes were due to (i) selling off some ZING to realise the price gains, (ii) claimed more ZING due to what I have mentioned above, and finally (iii) the usual accumulation through the APRs from HP Delegation and Staking. With that, my current holdings of ZING have decreased from 8,670 in the last update to 6,897 currently.

As for myself, I have separated my holdings in two separate slices.

Delegation

For the delegation slice, I have delegated 100 HP to @zingtoken all the way since the claimdrop started on 21 Oct. From HP delegation and staking ZING, I have obtained a total of about 3,566 ZING, of which, I have sold 2,600 ZING at around 0.0059 Hive on average. Hence, I am left with about 966 ZING.

So let's put them into a table and see how the figures look like.

On a base of 100 HP, that's close to 20% ROI over about 1 year and 1 month. If we were to annualise this figure, which isn't that meaningful (but purely for the purpose of generating an APR number), that's 19% APR.

Of course, the numbers will fluctuate wildly, especially with the steady increase in the HP delegation to @zingtoken.

Trading/Holding

For the trading slice, I have currently about 5,931 ZING, with all of them staked to get the staking APR. No ZING currently in liquid, but if the price comes down, maybe I would get some. With the recent activities, a table is probably better to capture the ins and outs from an account perspective. And for once, the numbers look a lot better. Hehe.

Of course, I have excluded the 35.80 HBD spent on the Alpha Vials in this table, as this probably complicates the table. But that's so far the in and outs, which is done purely just to satisfy the statistical nerd in me. Haha.

What's next for me?

I think the crypto ecosystem, even in the Hive ecosystem, is very competitive. Lots of opportunities appear every now and then, and people often jump from one project to next, so the lack of updates has really hurt the price of ZING. Personally, I don't think it's much of a concern for me, I will still looking for opportunities to buy (low) and sell (high), and at the same time, keep some ZING for the eventual launch of the HoloZing game, whenever it will be.

The price of ZING is something that I would watch very closely. As for the game development, I have already done my favourites/follows so I will continue to read them as they come.
