HoloZing - Bought My Alpha Vials!

Woohoo! I woke up this morning and saw that there was a brand new announcement in the HoloZing Discord! The Alpha Vials are on sale! Each Vial cost 20 USD or 20 HBD or the equivalent in Hive. You can read all about them in the post here. Hehe!

I logged in into the website and saw that I have a 21% discount on my first Vial purchase. I liked that they took into consideration of the pioneer users who participated in the 2023 event. Unfortunately I missed out of some days as I was on vacation but 21% is still good!

Achievement Discount
Those of you who have collected the Holozing Advent Calendar achievement in 2023 will enjoy a discounted first Alpha Vial based on the amount of days you claimed zing rewards. If you claimed on only 1 day you'll receive a 1% discount up to a 31% discount for those who claimed daily! This discount will only apply to one pack and will also be valid for a healer mint!

I thought of buying two Vials, maybe one for keeping and one for opening to play the game subsequently. However, to take advantage of the first purchase discount, I had to purchase them separately across two transactions. So that's 35.80 HBD spent on these Vials!

And hey presto! The two Vials are now in my inventory! Now I shall patiently wait for the further developments to the game.

Open or Hodlo
As a collector of the Alpha Vials, you can choose if you want to open the vial up in a future release or hold to trade later. As they will be time-limited some of you may value to open them up at a later date or save some for friends and family for special occasions! Zing Collection rewards will vary over time for unopened Vials.

Referral rewards
With the removal of "setting a referrer" option the only way to get more referrers now is by inviting new players over using your referral link. Players purchasing Vials will give referrers a lifetime 5% in the token they've been purchased in (Hive/HBD). Future methods of acquiring Vials through other crypto and fiat will give referrers the option to pick if they want the 5% in Hive/HBD or Zing.

Of course, no HoloZing update is complete without talking about my ZING stake.

Back to the usual update, as for the rewards, the APR for Staking has come down slightly from 19% to 17% and the APR for HP Delegation remained flat at 11%. Still pretty decent numbers.

Over the past month, I have been pretty much holding on to my ZING and accumulating more through the APRs from HP Delegation and Staking. With that, my current holdings of ZING have increased from 8,571 a month ago to 8,670 currently.

As for myself, I have separated my holdings in two separate slices.

Delegation

For the delegation slice, I have delegated 100 HP to @zingtoken all the way since the claimdrop started on 21 Oct. From HP delegation and staking ZING, I have obtained a total of about 3,584 ZING, of which, I have sold 2,300 ZING at around 0.0061 Hive on average. Hence, I am left with about 1,284 ZING.

So let's put them into a table and see how the figures look like.

On a base of 100 HP, that's close to 17% ROI over about 1 year. If we were to annualise this figure, which isn't that meaningful (but purely for the purpose of generating an APR number), that's 17% APR.

Of course, the numbers will fluctuate wildly, especially with the steady increase in the HP delegation to @zingtoken.

Trading/Holding

For the trading slice, I have currently about 7,386 ZING, with 3,386 ZING staked to get the staking APR and 4,000 ZING currently in liquid for flexibility. With the averaging down at current levels, the cost of this trading slice came up about to about 54 Hive, and based on the last price, they are worth about 18 Hive. Fortunately, there were some trading opportunities this month, so I managed to add some Hive into this slice.

What's next for me?

I think the crypto ecosystem, even in the Hive ecosystem, is very competitive. Lots of opportunities appear every now and then, and people often jump from one project to next, so the lack of updates has really hurt the price of ZING. Personally, I don't think it's much of a concern for me, I will still looking for opportunities to buy (low) and sell (high), and at the same time, keep some ZING for the eventual launch of the HoloZing game, whenever it will be.

The price of ZING is something that I would watch very closely. As for the game development, I have already done my favourites/follows so I will continue to read them as they come.

Comment Rewarder (CR) is a bot that rewards comments. CR helps low-stake authors (and all authors) reward their audience. Not all blog authors have enough Hive Power to upvote replies to reach the dust threshold, and rewarding comments incentivizes engagement. Authors with lower Hive Power may not have a weighty enough vote to successfully reward replies to their posts because of the ~$0.02 “dust” threshold. CR solves this problem.
