This month, the most major update was 2.5x ZING drops for Collection Rewards Allocation! Have copied the announcement in the screenshot below!

As a result, my daily ZING for April has increased to 275 ZING from 117 ZING in March, as my 2 Alpha Vials formed part of the Collection Rewards.

• For 31 Jan 2025, my daily ZING claim was 131, with 125 coming from 2 Alpha Vials that I held.
• For 28 Feb 2025, my daily ZING claim was 122, with 119 coming from 2 Alpha Vials that I held.
• For 31 Mar 2025, my daily ZING claim was 117, with 114 coming from 2 Alpha Vials that I held.
• For 30 Apr 2025, my daily ZING claim was 275, with 270 coming from 2 Alpha Vials that I held!

As more Alpha Vials were sold, it's inevitable that the number will gradually decline. Let's see what May will bring.

An important point to note, even though that the ZING drops have increased 2.5x the ROI/APR hasn't really grown by the same magnitude, because with the massive "flood" of ZING into the hands of so many players, there are bounds to players that will use the opportunity to sell off some ZING and the value of ZING did come off significantly as well.

Nonetheless, the claiming and stacking of ZING continues. It's been around 1.5 years and while there are some sporadic updates on and off, I am starting to wonder if the game will eventually take off, especially having bought 2 Alpha Vials. Oh well, I guess I can just wait and the usual management of ZING continues.

At time of writing, 3,737 Alpha Vials have been sold!

Of course, no HoloZing update is complete without talking about my ZING stake.

Back to the usual update, as for the rewards, the numbers have changed a lot due to the change in the rewards system, as well as the fluctuations in the price of Hive. The APR for Staking has decreased to about 4.5% and the APR for HP Delegation also fell to 6.4% as well!

With the current APR, one question is whether it still makes sense to delegation HP or stake ZING. That's something I have been pondering as well. Right now, I am still keep my HP delegation, since the primary purpose was to support @zingtoken and delegation rewards are secondary, and 6.4% is something I can sort of live with. As for staking, I am doing some unstaking so that I have more ZING to play with when there is volatility in prices since the staking rewards are not as attractive.

Over the past month, there were a lot of movements in my ZING holdings and the changes were due to (i) crazy amount of ZING from the increased Collection Rewards and, (ii) the usual accumulation through the APRs from HP Delegation and Staking, (iii) trading ZING due to the volatility of the price, and (iv) divesting some of the ZING to Hive. With that, my current holdings of ZING have increased significantly from 22,413 in the last update to 26,774 currently.

As for myself, I have separated my holdings in two separate slices.

Delegation

For the delegation slice, I have delegated 100 HP to @zingtoken all the way since the claimdrop started on 21 Oct 2023. From HP delegation and staking ZING, I have obtained a total of about 5,807 ZING, of which, I have sold 5,300 ZING at around 0.0045 Hive on average. Hence, I am left with about 507 ZING.

So let's put them into a table and see how the figures look like.

On a base of 100 HP, that's about 24% ROI over about 1 year and 7 months. If we were to annualise this figure, which isn't that meaningful (but purely for the purpose of generating an APR number), that's 17% APR.

Of course, the numbers will fluctuate wildly, depending on the increase or decrease in the HP delegation to @zingtoken.

Trading/Holding

For the trading slice, I have currently about 26,267 ZING, with some of them staked to get the staking APR. With the recent activities, a table is probably better to capture the ins and outs from an account perspective. And for once, the numbers look a lot better. This month, the net gains increased to 68 Hive, as I have taken the opportunity to sell off my ZING given the increased supply and daily drops.

Of course, I have excluded the 35.80 HBD spent on the Alpha Vials in this table, as this probably complicates the table. Let's see if the net gains can eventually offset the cost of my Alpha Vials. So that's so far the in and outs, which is done purely just to satisfy the statistical nerd in me. Haha.

What's next for me?

I think the crypto ecosystem, even in the Hive ecosystem, is very competitive. Lots of opportunities appear every now and then, and people often jump from one project to next. Personally, I don't think it's much of a concern for me, I will still looking for opportunities to buy (low) and sell (high), and at the same time, keep some ZING for the eventual launch of the HoloZing game, whenever it will be.

The price of ZING is something that I would watch very closely. As for the game development, I have already done my favourites/follows so I will continue to read them as they come.
