Using Ankara fabric,I made a lovely gown for a friend.

Hello everyone @needleworkmonday community.its been a beautiful day as I start the week
and I am hopeful that this week will be beautiful, productive, and filled with great achievements.

Today, I would love to share with you all a beautiful free gown I made for a friend using Ankara fabric. Fashion designing is a craft that requires patience, creativity, and attention to detail, and I am always excited whenever I have the opportunity to create something special.

Here are the materials I used

  • Ankara fabric
  • black colour fabric
  • scissors
  • measuring tape

First step
The first step in making the gown was taking my client's measurements. Since it was going to be a free gown, I carefully took all the necessary measurements, including the full length, shoulder, half length, bust, sleeve length, and other important body measurements. Accurate measurements are very important because they determine how well the finished outfit will fit the wearer.

Second step
After taking the measurements, I proceeded to prepare the fabric. I neatly folded the Ankara fabric into two and carefully transferred the measurements onto it before cutting out the marked areas. Since there was no intention of adding a zipper to the gown, I did not include any zipper allowance during the cutting process.

Next step
Next, I focused on designing the front part of the gown. To give it a stylish and elegant appearance, I decided to create a V-neck design.

After shaping the neckline, I used a black satin fabric to beautifully outline and enhance the V-neck area. The contrast between the vibrant Ankara fabric and the black satin added a touch of class and sophistication to the dress.

For the sleeves, I chose a comfortable, free-fitting style rather than a tight sleeve design. To maintain consistency and add more beauty to the outfit, I also attached black satin fabric to the edges of the sleeves. This simple detail gave the gown a more fashionable and polished look.

Once all the individual pieces were completed, I carefully joined them together and finished the sewing process. I paid close attention to every seam and detail to ensure a neat and professional finish.

Finally, after completing the gown, I called my friend to come for a fitting. I was delighted when she tried it on and it fitted her perfectly. Seeing her satisfaction and happiness made all the effort worthwhile.

I am grateful that I was able to complete and deliver the dress on time. Every finished outfit reminds me of how much I enjoy creating beautiful garments and bringing ideas to life through fashion. I look forward to making even more beautiful designs in the future.
