Sometimes the process is more meaningful than the outcome.
Introvert Talks is well and alive after 17 days of absence! I realise it's tough to stick strictly to my "self imposed" weekly frequency because sometimes I just don't have thoughts to share, or sometimes I just have too many thoughts and it takes them to reorganise them in my head.
Since it's nearing the month end, here's a quick update of my "likely to fail" goal. Hehe.
So a few months ago, I wrote about my annual health checkup and I received a wake up call about my health. You can read about it here.
Well, there was no health scare or whatsoever, but all the indicators seemed to got slightly worse with age, especially the past year, and so I decided to set a goal of losing 5 kg in the coming 6 months (until end Mar 2026).
And this month's reading came in at a 65.65 kg (which I should round it up for my records in the table below).

Not sure if it's meant to be a consolation (or excuse hehe), at least I maintained my weight. Lol.
If I could do a self reflection, I would deduce a large part of the "failure" likely comes from my diet. Over the past 4 months, I have definitely upped my activity levels, and I have been doing more exercise, getting more steps done, so logically, all these calories burnt should be reflected. But unfortunately, it didn't, and since I trust the data, the culprit would be all the delicious food that I had consumed.
The coming February would be challenging to watch my diet because there is the Chinese New Year holidays and there's all the gatherings and feasting over the period. At this moment, I am just "enjoying" this exercise and see how it pans out. Sometimes the process is more meaningful than the outcome.
I used to care about a lot about the outcome when I was younger. Now, even though the outcome on some matters in life is still important, I have concurrently learnt to appreciate the process or some would say the journey. It's interesting to see how I would react to curveballs during the process, and how I build resilience through falling down and picking myself up again to continue, and always finding opportunities to improve and become a better version of myself.
I read somewhere that too many people are chasing "KPIs" in their life. Well there's nothing really wrong with that, but the writer shared a different perspective where he feels that life is not very different from a vacation. Whenever we have an overseas vacation for 3 days or even a week, most of us would plan a detailed itinerary, on what to visit, what to eat, what to do and so on. Life is pretty much the same, if we switch our mindset to think we are on a "vacation" on Earth for perhaps a good amount of years, and we are really here to see and experience new things. If we like something, we do it. If we don't like something, we just move on. Rather than setting ourselves to achieve some targets, we should focus on creating new experiences for ourselves, because, this "vacation" on Earth will end someday, if you get what I mean.
Chinese New Year is around the corner, and there is always those fortune telling and prediction stuff for different zodiac signs. Am born in the year of Rabbit, so ending this post with one of the many "forecasts". Personally, I don't read too much into them because they are usually quite generic. It's more for the fun.
