Introvert Talks - Hive Is More Than A Price Chart

"Introvert Talks" is meant to be a new initiative or theme, where I myself as an introvert, just talk about reflections and thoughts about my life, or maybe share more personal stuff. :)

This is my weekly post under this "Introvert Talks" theme and let's see where it takes me and us.

You probably already knew. Hive is down to 0.068 USD.

But if you haven't, here's the 1 year chart which you can find on most crypto sites. Down 78% over the past year.

Not looking good. And we know that.

And people are leaving or have already left. And we know that too. (I can't be the only one feeling it right?)

And while this is not financial advice of any sorts, it could well go lower (or higher, because no one really knows). And perhaps some of us won't be surprised if that happens too.

There's a lot of talk about many things within the crypto space, to name a few, whatever happened on 10 Oct, or the 4 year Bitcoin cycle where 2026 is meant to be a down year (but then again 2025 wasn't really in sync), or even talks about AI bubble, or the volatility of Gold and Silver, the list goes on.

But coming back to Hive, other than things being quieter, and my vote power (in USD) being reduced to almost zero at the rate the price of Hive is dropping, nothing really groundbreaking has really changed for me. It's still the same old writing, same old engagement with friends who are still around for years now (time flies), same old manual curation and commenting on posts here and there.

In some way, it's a true test of what I said about Hive right from the beginning, that this is really just a hobby for me. While votes or monetary rewards are a bonus, it was never the primary factor why I am here. (I mean, to put in perspective, there are many other part time jobs that can pay an hourly rate better than the amount of rewards I am getting from writing posts here. Haha.)

But am I upset or disappointed about the price of Hive? Of course. We are all human and we would all like to see our assets go up. Looking at my Hive wallet, in some way, it's also a reflection of how far I have come since my Hive journey in 2021. Even at these lowly levels, the estimated USD value of my Hive wallet is slightly above USD 2000. But aside from this "human nature" disappointment, I think I am okay.

I guess, the more worrying thing is whether the Hive community is able to survive through this bear market of whatever we call it to be. Because imagine if one day almost everyone left and we are left with the same old 5 or 10 people engaging one another, at that point, maybe it would not be meaningful anymore, at least for me. But I guess, with all the activity happening (seeing a lot of Splinterlands stuff lately), hopefully we will never reach that stage.

Anyway, just feel like sharing my thoughts on Hive and crypto markets in general. The weekend is approaching so remember to take a break and find some fun and good food! See you in the next one! And may markets be as green as the matcha latte! (It's interesting because I didn't know one could customise the messages in the stickers so I picked one for myself)

There are Hive haters who are not surprised by the price decline: it is expected, they say, because of a systemic anomaly. I am just curious why they still stay.

I don't pray for that to happen, but even if it reaches 0.03, some of us will still be here.
A platform isn’t just code or price action; it’s the density of real conversations. As long as those still exist, even if quieter, Hive is still alive in a meaningful way.
