"Introvert Talks" is meant to be a new initiative or theme, where I myself as an introvert, just talk about reflections and thoughts about my life, or maybe share more personal stuff. :)
This is my weekly post under this "Introvert Talks" theme and let's see where it takes me and us.
We often wish for more free time, but what happens when we finally have it and don't know what to do with it?
Most of you know me as an introvert, and very comfortable going about my daily activities solo, and enjoying my "me time". But yesterday was just one of the weird days where for the first time since x months, I suddenly felt bored and lonely and a little moody/down.
I was home early after lunch with my parents, because I had errands to run, and household chores to do, but either I miscalculated or I was too efficient (I think it's the former), I completed them pretty quickly and suddenly, my brain was blank. Being an avid planner, I always had something planned for my pockets of free time, but yesterday, I just somehow couldn't find the mood.
I thought if I should head out since I was free - but the thought of showering and getting dressed for a random outing just feel too much effort so my mind rejected.
Then I thought maybe I could get some good food for dinner - but I just felt lazy and decided it was easier making a simple meal at home instead.
Then I thought maybe I could write a post to publish on Hive - but I just didn't have the mood either, and I didn't want to force something out, even though my travel photos were always ready in my computer.
In short, it was a combination of boredom and my mind rejecting all the things that I normally would do in my free time. And this sort of "mood swing" is something I haven't experienced for quite some time already.
But it all changed after a chat with my friend.
My friend asked how my day was, I just say as a matter of fact, it was quite a boring day for me. And then he said how he wished he could be bored too.
And it turned out there was quite a lot of stuff going on with his life, including home appliances breaking down and requiring him to call a technician to fix it, and then rushing from place to place to run his errands.
And it was at the moment I realised I should count my blessings. I had the "luxury" to feel bored, to be free of worries, to have "too much" time on my hands, to be able to rest and enjoy an uneventful day. Shouldn't I be grateful to be in my position?
And like a switch, my mood swing just resolved on its own. And when I woke up this morning, everything was back to normal. I went for my usual exercise, ate some good food, and how could I forget, my favourite matcha latte, with matcha ice cream on top! And while reflecting over the weekend, the idea for this post was formed. Hehe.

Have a great week ahead my friend

That sudden shift in perspective can really change the whole day. It is funny how just hearing about someone else dealing with broken appliances can make a quiet boring afternoon feel like luxury instead.
I dont know if this really makes sense but sometimes we become so accustomed to having things to do that we forget how fortunate we are when life gives us a little breathing space.
