I guess I don't pay attention very well or just have bad memory because this is the first I am remembering about you ever having the big C. I am sure that was a dreadful day when you got the news. Not long ago when I was in the hospital for something unrelated, they told me they saw something near my groin that looked like it could be cancer. They asked me if I wanted to do additional tests. I told them to throw the kitchen sink at it only to quickly realize that the doctors are not familiar with that expression haha. So I rephrased it and told them to "do all the tests that exist"
I got lucky I guess, because it was a false alarm... but during that two hours or so that I spent waiting for the results and the head of oncology to arrive, those were some of the very strangest hours of my life. I started thinking things that I had never thought about before like a "life flashing in front of my eyes" sort of situation.
I'm happy you recovered though dude, and lets hope that it stays gone. It's certainly not something good to find out about one's self, that's for sure.
No worries! Like I said, it's not something I talk about a lot. I mean I want people to be educated about it, and I might post about how I am in remission once a year, but it doesn't really define me. I got so lucky and now I am just down a pretty non vital organ, so it's not too bad. Only having one makes sitting in tight airline seats much more comfortable! :) I'm glad your diagnosis ended up being nothing. I agree though, the time between getting the ultrasound and blood tests and getting the results was horrible. Luckily once they had those the doctor was ready to do the surgery the next day.
