I've been active on Hive for a lot of years now. A couple of days ago I received a reply from Hivebuzz celebrating me with my 6th Hive birthday. Boy, time really does fly when you're having fun.
Immediately after I discovered Hive I was very enthusiastic about it. I could just create blogs and even get paid for it. It was much later that I really discovered the value of Hive; the community.
In the past six years I've been quite active on Hive. I've shared a lot of my experiences, played a lot of games, started some initiatives for the improvements of Hive, joined dozens of discord channels and listened to Hive Podcasts.
I've also started multiple initiatives to improve Hive. The one most of you might know is @topcomment; a comment curation initiative that is meant to reward high quality comments to encourage commenting on Hive.
But I also own the Cycling community and was active in Hive Health Dashboard initiatives.

A few weeks ago I announced a that I was going to have a holiday break. We had a wonderful and adventurous family holiday planned. I wanted to have my full focus on the holiday and my family, so I removed all Hive apps and Discord from my phone.
This cold turkey approach was a bit strange at first, but really gave me a lot of rest and made me enjoy the family holiday.
After getting back home I had expected to get back into my old rhythm. I checked Hive to see what I 'missed', but I found out that I personally didn't miss a lot. I also didn't really feel the urge to create blogs myself again. It actually feels good not to be very active and check Hive a couple of times a day.
So I decided that I want to keep Hive on a lower priority for a little longer. The break has shown me that I really enjoy having more time and space away from Hive.
This is surely not a goodbye. I will still check up on Hive regularly, but I don't think I will be active on a daily basis anymore. At least, for a while. Who knows what will happen in the future....
[TLDR]
I just wanted to let everyone know I'm taking a step back from Hive.
I'm not quitting, I'll just be less active to focus more on my offline activities.
Take care!

The scary thing is that all the Apps needed to be uninstalled..
Kudos on a proper family holiday, you'll look back on it and know you did exactly the right thing!
Here's to many more, time well spent! ๐
Have fun with your well deserved break.๐
I think many users in general is the same place. And that is what it should be if you ask me. Not a mandatory "must stay at least xx hours a day" or anything like it. We check when we want..
And that is where the default "enabling" of Hivebuzz is a bit strange. It encourage new users to stay online everyday, almost several hours a day. Maybe (just maybe) Hive would hive a better visitor rate, and keep hold of new users better, if they weren't overthrown with stuff they might not understand right from the get-go.
Anyway, that was a sidetrack. Glad to hear you're in a good place and that you found the break extremely useful ๐

Yeah no one needs to apologise for not checking in or even announce they are leaving imo. No guilt trips!
Usually it takes a big break to realise nothing changes and the world doesn't collapse if you aren't here. Will miss you, and we need you here, so do consider the occasional post ๐ to keep in touch xx

Well i just post when I can now so I get where you're coming from on taking a step back amd not pressuring yourself on a few things
Enjoy your break. None of this stuff is really essential. We lived without any online stuff before. I hope to see you back some time.
Well, good luck and see you soon!
Thank you for all the awards I received in the comments. I didn't know you were participating in that initiative.
Until next time.
Focusing on the present time was definitely the right call. I know exactly how it feels to step back a little, and Hive will still be here whenever you feel like taking a peak. Enjoy real life!
