The Body Eventually Rests: How Letting Go Becomes Healing

(edited)

‎More often than not, the body stops wanting something it can't have as time passes by. In other words, your mind gets the signal, an understanding that reads: not available or you can't get it. So, your body naturally stops or loses interest automatically.
‎
‎Have you thought about the times you obsessed about a particular thing or someone badly, but they didn't want you back or you couldn't get that thing? What happens over time is that your body would start losing interest in them, not immediately, but slowly, gradually. And after some time, you begin to wonder how you got so attached to them.
‎
‎Most of the time, it's not the person or the thing that changed, could be because your brain has settled and actually replays the treatment you got from that person, the rejection, the disrespect, the nonchalant attitude and all, or your brain suddenly remembers how you tried so hard to get whatever is it that gave you sleepless night but couldn't, so it remembers the pain, the risks, the wasted effort. Because of these, coupled with the loss of interest, you became resentful toward the person or thing.
‎
‎In conclusion, the body always rests from that friendship or relationship that is not working, from that person that is not giving you attention or treating you well. The body will eventually rest from disrespect, and nonchalance, if you're patient enough to let go and move on, not immediately, but gradually...that's how healing starts. You begin to feel peace, like those things or that person does not exist anymore, they become normal to you, you start treating them like every other person not a small God
‎Or something you can't do without.
‎So, the next time you find yourself wanting something or someone you can't have, pause, give it space, and watch your body walk you through freedom. Oh, it would hurt for a short while, but eventually you would be glad you did.
‎
‎Healing starts by letting go what seem unreachable.
