Is it falling, or is it going up? What can we do about it? Should we stop it, or should we embrace it? Can we catch up to it, or is the gap getting bigger and bigger? Are we "losing" it and running into the abyss, without leaving the option to go back up to where we were before?

What the heck am I talking about? 🙂 I think it was last week when the "big AI boys" came out in public, expressing concerns about AI development in the world... How, even though they don't know how powerful AI could be, so that we should slow down the development a bit... One thing is to say things like that, and another thing is to follow your opinion... Usually, those things are not in sync; the rich and those in power say one thing and do another... I don't see it slowing down or stopping, but rather a trick to get gains over the competition...
But that's not the main topic of this post... My thoughts went a bit off-topic, but I got triggered by this tweet...

I think I was talking about this topic before, and how it looks like our "human intelligence" reached the top a few decades ago, and since then, it has been declining... Now, when I think back, I wrote about something similar after watching a fantastic comedy (is it?) movie Idiocracy with Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph in the main roles... The worrying part of watching the movie was when I would recognize some of the "patterns" in the movie...

Maybe I'm just overreacting, or looking through negative eyes, or just being grumpy, but signs are all around us... Let me share with you a short story from a few days ago...
I was doing my daily walk when I like to observe "the world around me"... 🙂 Usually, that's birds in the sky, chirping sounds, cicadas in the grass, beautiful trees, etc. But to get to the "nature part", I have to go through the city...
A family was standing in the middle of the pavement: a man, a woman, and a teenage son... They were talking with a person on the 3rd-floor balcony... Okay, not talking, yelling... Unfortunately, everyone on the street had to "participate" as we couldn't "not hear" them... Adults were all into yelling, while the teenage son was picking his nose, holding a half-empty juice carton in his hand...
Suddenly, he became nervous, looking left and right, searching for something... And there it was: the perfect place to throw the juice box was right there, directly in the bush in front of the building! He even made an effort to throw it 3-4 meters! And no, the trash bin, which was LITERALLY BEHIND HIM, wasn't good enough! The important thing was that he had a perfect haircut, half a liter of oil in his hair, and some fancy clothes... Unfortunately, he didn't bring his manners with him... In those moments, I always remember the words of one of my teachers who would say: "The head isn't only made for a haircut!"
I'm having a hard time picking the right words now... Can you offend a pig by saying it's a pig? I know that this isn't maybe an example of the "intelligence debate", but you have to start measuring it somehow...
Recently, it looks like certain things trigger me more than others... Seeing people littering, or having no understanding for others, or just not caring about anything other than themselves, hurts me a lot... Where did we make a mistake?
Maybe those who invested time in AI development realized first that there is no help for us humans...

It was around a week ago when @achim03 published the last post on the @ctpsb account, where he shared some numbers about the project... It's always interesting to look back and check the numbers, which he did, and realize the huge return the project made to its investors... After 6 years of the project, it made a whopping 328% return, which is more than 27% per year... All that, indexed in HIVE, so if you were accumulating HIVE, the easiest way to do it was to park it in the CTPSB token!
There will be 4.3 CTPSB tokens distributed to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!
4.3 CTPSB tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 14.371%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 17.362%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

Good evening, @ph1102. Regarding the lack of respect for others, it seems endless... I don't know what else to say. As for AI, I’m currently forming an opinion on it... and at this stage, I think it can be a great tool. Regarding the warnings about its dangers, I believe the owners have a strong interest in remaining its sole owners... I can't think of much else to add.

Spot on. :) Many subjects you touched upon, but first there is lot of misconceptions about AI..Dare to say that 95 percent of people have no clue what actually AI is. (Hint, just a huge databases, algorithmically driven and controlled within neural networks).
Training literally means, filling up databases with data.
Has nothing to do with "intelligence" as people concieve it.
Reminds me on the beginnings of Internet or social media. It took time when an actual understanding of technology took place.
And yes..any kind of intelligence, organic or artificial by definition is a threat to this civilisation. No doubt about it. :)
How about "no intelligence"? Could that cause even bigger harm?
Btw, before creating this post, I ran into another phrase that boiled my blood... It was on a topic of upcoming elections and politics in "our country"... It was something like this...

I don't follow that much what is going on in "our country", and emotionally not connect to it that much.I wish them well tho.
Internet when it began it resembled library, after social media it resembles more pubs or folk festivals. Bear and sausages.:) Nothing new, it is just much more prevalent and visible.
Media are also to blame. You have now basically only tabloid, yellow paper media.
Today at the management meeting we talked about the possibilities of reducing OPEX and CAPEX costs for IT services and equipment.
In the last year, everything has gone up over 100% and has no intention of stopping...
A colleague says to me: "Ask the AI to suggest a scenario for you to achieve cost reduction".
"Well, my dear, everything has actually become more expensive precisely because of AI".
The introduction of AI technologies for the sake of savings (in time or manpower), leads to a large increase in costs and natural resources, energy, water...
I don't believe that the owners of world capital are worried about those resources, there is probably an AI race going on, who will break out into the leading position...
AI race is full ON! It was too good to be true to have almost free AI last year... They were (and still are) competing to see who could survive with no profits for a longer time + investing billions in new data centers and machines... The resolution is probably near, but prices will go up, that's for sure...
It's not surprising to see people knocking others down, but the AI situation seems a bit weird. With all those CEOs asking for regulations, I think they see the situation where their growth and numbers can't meet expectations and they need a reason to explain to their investors. Especially so in the case of those that are already public or going public on the stock market. I think the growth will continue, but at a slower pace.

That's an interesting point of view! You could be into something... Additional regulations could be their "excuse" for not meeting expectations, as they took way too much money for development and computing power...

I think I am more in the camp that AI is just like any tool, like fire or electricity or even guns and missiles, there will always be risks when used in the wrong way, but on the other hand, it does bring about benefits when used in the right way. So I don't think the concerns bother me a lot.
I suppose we will see very soon if there will be some (more) limitation to AI usage... There are already some, but I expect more...

Like any other tool, AI can be used for good and for bad... Because of that, and because bad people do exist, I suppose we will need some limits on AI usage...

It certainly depends on what you use it for—it could be good or bad; you're right about that. My son had one done last year, too; there was no elevator up to his fourth-floor apartment yet, so he stayed with his sister so she could help him. I'm glad you're recovering. Best wishes.
