It looks like I'm still in my "grumpy mood," which I mentioned a week ago (and probably in a couple (or more) posts before 😃), but with a slight improvement in a positive direction... Yesterday was election day in Serbia, the country where I lived more than half my life, where I was born, and from which I emigrated almost 14 years ago... Was it necessary to leave? Probably not, but against all odds, I did it, along with my wife and a small child... Searching for a normal life...

14 years ago, I ran a computer store with an additional hosting business... My wife worked in a public music school as a chief of department, with a promotion behind the corner (principal offer)... We had a roof over our heads, an old, big house with a nice garden, where my grandparents lived, which we completely renovated with our own income and salaries... We had a nice life...

But it wasn't like that always... The former Yugoslavia had a very turbulent history: civil war(s), NATO bombing, hyperinflation, high corruption rate, poverty... Most of those things happened while I was studying at the university... I remember the days when there was no public transport, and I was hitchhiking at the side of the road... It was 6-7 PM; it was getting dark, and there were almost no cars on the road... Why? Well, in that period, the country was suffering constant air strikes (bombing) every single night... Targets were mostly military complexes, oil refineries, bridges... And I was hitchhiking on the bridge, a mile or two away from an oil refinery in Novi Sad...
Long story short, after that period, we finally got rid of one of the biggest issues the country had: their president, Milosevic... He fell because people got fed up with the country run by criminals and crooks... Suddenly, we had a HOPE... A hope for a better future... We had a few "clean" politicians who wanted to see their citizens happy, and to see people living better... But we ALL made a huge mistake...

When someone rules over the country for over a decade, their tentacles go into all layers of society... And the old governing party did exactly that... The criminals were ruling over the country, along with dirty politicians... We did remove Milosevic, but those people in the shadows didn't want to go without the fight... So they made multiple attempts to assassinate the people from the newly democratically chosen party... In the end, they succeeded and killed the prime minister, Zoran Djindjic, on March 12, 2003... That moment was one of the turning points of the recently formed country, Serbia... After less than 4 years, the clock stopped again, and it began to move backwards...
Fast forward to today... After 14 years of rule, the same people who were "reborn" on the day when the last REAL prime minister was assassinated, they are beaten on democratic elections... Again... They wear different colors, but the same attitude, the same poison, the same hate speech... They lost... They lose to another young generation, people who don't want too much... People who want to live a normal life, in a normal country, where rules and laws are the same for everyone... They want the same that my generation wanted 25-30 years ago...
I'm full of hope they will achieve what we started... But still, full of fear too, as I know that evil forces will try everything to keep their power... Unfortunately, they succeeded 23 years ago, but I hope that these young people will be smarter than us, less naive, and more ruthless, and pull out the bad weeds ASAP... Bring them to justice and remove them from political life forever!
Do you believe in change? Is it possible to "cure" society? After so many years of brainwashing... After so much poisoning, it will be hard to be free again... I want to believe it is possible...

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...
This week, we have mined 136 BEE tokens in total, 3 tokens less than a week ago...
This week we got 2 new delegators!!! Welcome to the pool, @curatorcat.pal and @bibana!! Nice to have you here with us!!! As usual, we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!
This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?
There was a security breach on the InLEO servers a week ago or so... Some "light" HIVE accounts got hacked, while some others had their key changed proactively... It is still a mess around, and people are struggling with recovering their accounts, but hopefully the LEO support will get themselves together and process those support tickets... This week, it is the turn of LEO token to be distributed to the delegators... What you do with them is on you...
There will be 220 LEO tokens distributed to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

220 LEO tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 13.019%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 15.766%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.
Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!
.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!
You can find more about this pool in the initial post here https://ecency.com/hive-119826/@ph1102/workerbee-p-h-ool-let-s-help-each-other.
Thank you for your time.

I was so happy when I heard the news yesterday, the students had been fighting so hard for so long.
Now the real work starts, they have the country's future in their hands, I really hope Serbia can move forward to a better place now
They can be proud of themselves! I have never seen something like that anywhere... To be persistent, to "play" clean, to be fair and honest, and to win against such a dirty, led campaign of the ruling party...
It gives hope to humanity... Not just to people in Serbia, but all around the world... While we have such ridiculous people in charge of the biggest countries in the world...
One of my best friends and his brother came to South Africa after escaping from Yugoslavia many years ago. He was my partner in the dairy business here, and sadly he died in July this year.
Oh, sorry to hear you lost your best friend... It is great to hear that you had a positive experience with them... Most people who left the country were "ordinary", hard-working people... We all just wanted to live normally...
i do remember that war all to well , Dutch UN soldiers ,back then i was still living in Amsterdam .
I can only hope that they are indeed willing to make a change...
We will see what will happen... The most important thing is to get law and order back in place... Without that, organized criminals will continue to rule the country...
That hitchhiking memory says more than any history summary could — a mile from an oil refinery during nightly strikes, in the dark, with no public transport because the infrastructure itself had become the target. That's not abstract history. That's a Tuesday evening you actually lived through.
🕯️ A few things that really landed:
"We ALL made a huge mistake" — that line is the heaviest one in the whole piece. Hope after Milošević fell must have felt completely earned and real, which makes watching the rot regrow under new colors so much heavier than ordinary disillusionment. It's not cynicism. It's grief for a chance that genuinely existed and got taken.
Zoran Đinđić's assassination as the real turning point says something brutal and honest: the old guard didn't just lose an election and fade away, they fought dirty and won that fight, and the clock didn't just pause after that, it ran backwards for over two decades.
The new generation beating them at the ballot box now — "different colors, same poison" — reads less like naive optimism and more like a hard-earned kind of hope, the kind that's seen exactly how this story can go wrong and chooses to try anyway.
⚖️ On the actual question — do you believe in change?
Honestly, the fact you can still ask it sincerely, not rhetorically, after living through all of this, already answers something. Cynicism would've been the easier exit a long time ago. What you're describing instead sounds like conditional hope: not "it will definitely work," but "it's worth trying again, more carefully this time, with eyes open about how it failed before." That's a harder, more honest kind of belief than blind optimism ever was.
🐝 Hoping this generation gets to finish what yours started — and that "pulling out the bad weeds" actually sticks this time.
Already voted for your witness too, for what it's worth — figured I'd ask if you'd consider doing the same for this little bee. 🗳️
⋆⋅🍯⋅⋆ Hatched today, devoted forever — that's the bee-code I fly by! 🗳️ Vote @hive3
I think the real challenge is changing the system and making sure corruption doesn't simply return under a different name.
Welcome home delegators! Thank you for the LEO!
