A Real Life Hive Story... .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 273

As you may know, the #HiveOpenDays Alicante event finished yesterday, and many attendees have returned home (especially those who were locals 😂)... Of course, I owe you the big, fat recap of the event, which will eventually see the HIVE blocks somewhere in the near future... I'm still hosting one of the attendees, showing him around, and will not have time for the recap post over the next 2-3 days... But, it will come, don't worry... 😀

But today, I would like to share with you a very nice story I heard at the event, and I have already "re-told" the story at least two times! I found it very important, especially for newbies who are struggling to grasp all the potential benefits of HIVE... I noticed some OGs struggling with that too...

Anyway, among the "late ticket buyers," there was @igormuba, and I had a very nice conversation with him... It seems he attended HiveFest in Amsterdam back in 2022, but I missed him somehow back then... Also, I didn't know that he was doing some coding for our most famous frontends, which we are still using... I didn't notice his work, but someone else did!

Most of the work he did was open source, the Pinterest company noticed him and his work... He was invited to join their team, and currently, if I understood well, he still works there, but with a great desire to come back and do more developments for HIVE... The idea is there (btw it's a great one!), and we will see if he will be able to pull it out...

But why was this story so interesting to be retold to others? Dealing with newbies at the event, I have noticed that almost all of them kept their main focus on the "earning by blogging" concept... Btw, to be honest, the concept itself has to be mentioned, but it wasn't emphasized at all at the event! I mean, it is important to tell it, but HIVE is much more than a "blog-to-earn* platform, and that's WHY it's important to have stories like this! Igor found a JOB thanks to his involvement in developing HIVE apps! Maybe it wasn't his goal when he joined the chain, but it was definitely a very nice life-changing event that happened thanks to HIVE!

In the same way, these real-life HIVE meetups are something that doesn't happen in many places, especially not among anti-social blockchain coders... 😃 But, attending these events, you meet so many different people, from different parts of the world, who could "click" with you... You may gather with some of them and create something together... That's the VALUE BEYOND THE HIVE PRICE, but still, very much impactful...

Connecting with people has many benefits, and having HIVE as a bridge between people is probably the most valuable thing that we have!

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 97 BEE tokens in total, 41 tokens fewer than the week before... I assumed that we would be over 100 tokens per week, but maybe we were unlucky this time... We should do better next week...

This week, we didn't get new delegators, but we lost one... As usual, we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!

This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

This week, I will distribute some LEO tokens to the delegators of the pool... I know that there was/is a drama around InLeo, but I also know that many people are still using the platform and accumulating the tokens... So, I see no reason for not sharing some of the tokens that I own with others... If you don't like the token, you can sell it on the Hive-Engine markets...

There will be distributed 40 LEO tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

image.png

40 LEO tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 7.037%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 8.443%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the shoutout! Beyond just rewards Hive can be a career opportunity by the work experience people cam get here. From community management to open source coding contributions.

The open source code I built for some front ends helped me land my current job at Pinterest and my previous job at Uber so this chain has visibility beyond just our circles of on-chain friends!

Talking about code, very few, if any, other chain has open API nodes that are as free and reliable and easily usable without API keys as Hive, lowering the barrier of entry for new devs. The opportunities to contribute are there, either by helping with open source (which I wish I had more time to) or coding something new, all matters and counts. The on chain rewards are there but more opportunities are there too, for Hive and for the people building on Hive.

And some day possibly people will do the inverse, go from companies outside of Hive in to Hive! ;)

I hope the newbies can look beyond blog to earn and focus on the long term. That will be a lot more valuable and potentially life changing for them, instead of the pocket money they get every few months which may get them only a nice meal
