The BTC maxis are mostly bullish about BTC but the truth is that if we have only BTC, then it defeats the essence of crypto. Crypto should build apps, Blockchain and tech, I understand that most times the coins don't pump as BTC, but crypto should be about pump and dump alone.
This is why no one is happy when it's only BTC pumping: because 98% of people are vested in other functional projects.

I do like BTC and I do hold some, but beyond scarcity and the network, it doesn't offer too much to work around... On the other side, you said it's true, when BTC goes down, the rest go down as well...
But, I also have to say that I did notice certain tokens being more resilient to BTC fluctuations, and that's very good news! We need more of those... Individual, good tokenomics can make that possible... š
