Good evening @ph1102 ; that’s a great post that raises more questions than it answers for me. Price might not matter on an individual level, but it does have an impact on Hive. You explained that very well. You also did a great job explaining the demand aspect: the fact that all transactions are free eliminates a source of demand for Hive. And I don't know what else to say...

It's not just you who is confused and has questions... As you can see, I'm also struggling to see the good and bad sides... I have mixed feelings about different aspects of HIVE, and I suppose many others do too... It's sad to me to see some old accounts missing the point of HIVE and focusing only on the monetary side... If we focus on price and money, there's no space left for human connections... That happens a lot on HIVE, and you can see it when people create content that has nothing to do with them... It looks like watching the news on TV... It's a different story when people do that and share their personal views, but without it, it has nothing to do with the "social" side of HIVE...
On the other hand, whenever HIVE goes down in value, we lose a lot of members... So, I don't know... I suppose we should find the middle... 🙂
Good evening, @ph1102 . When I first started posting on Hive, I thought it was "just" a social network—albeit one with the advantage of being free from censorship. Over time, my perspective shifted, and I now see two ways of viewing Hive: either as a social network or as a workplace.
When viewed as a workplace, monetization undoubtedly distorts interactions between Hivers. Interactions—such as posts—end up being driven by economic considerations. For instance, posting music and movie reviews in a specific community is currently the trend.
For me personally, Hive offers things that go beyond monetization... and I’ll stay on the platform as long as that remains the case.
I’m not sure if this reflection is of much interest, but I wanted to share it anyway.
