When buying and selling cars, we have so many anecdotes, for a whole book 🙂
How many times as a customer have I heard the comment: "Grandma drove it to the market, it's like new", and the mileage is over 150,000 km 😅
As a seller, I have always been honest and almost always sold the car at the lower market price, because imagine, my cars are not like new, they have scratches, they need to be serviced, and the 100,000 km that I have done, have been driven in the city, highways, forest and country roads...
That's how I sold my Opel Astra.
I gave a low price on the ad and further lowered the price to one buyer who expressed interest. The price I told him could not be even 1€ lower.
He drove up to me, looked at the car, confirmed everything I told him and asked: "Can the price be 50€ lower?". I turned and headed home, locking the car, when he apologized and said, "I had to try. You know I'm a reseller."
Two weeks after the purchase, I saw that car on the market, it would really look like new, painted, washed, but for a much higher price.
And the last sale of my Suzuki SX4, the buyer, it turned out to be my former colleague, drove the car to his mechanic who said that the discs on the wheels needed to be replaced and that the price for that replacement was €1000 and that he would reduce the already low price by that much.
I asked the customer if he would accept to pay the price I was asking if I replaced the discs.
He agreed, and the replacement cost me €300, at my master's...
There is everything... And what I have only seen myself as a customer... Real torture. In the end, I have never bought a car from a dealer, always from individuals.
And you didn't say which car you bought. Isn't it a Mercedes A-class?
Hehehehe... The mileage can be fixed always... lol... but granma is always there... 😂
Most of the cars did the same... The only difference is that the car salesman doesn't know that, or it doesn't want to know, or it doesn't say it... lol...
Oh, boy... Mechanics is a completely different (and painful) story... 😂
Yes, it is... 20 years old, but it looks great... It was driven by a woman (not grandma 😂) the last 6-7 years, and the interior looks like "apoteka" 🤣 (no joking)
I saw it in the picture 😉
