LOH #270- Life Is Too Short to Worry Too Much: How I Like to Start My Mornings

It's been a while @ladiesofhive!

Today, I am so excited to share my thoughts by answering one of @sacra97's questions.

1.Life is too short to worry too much: How do you like to start your mornings?

Life is too short to worry too much. This is a truth I keep close as I get older and try to live more intentionally. I’ve learned that too much worry doesn’t add meaning to life; it only takes away from the joy of the present. That’s why mornings are so important to me. The way I start my day shapes my mindset, my energy, and how I handle whatever comes next.

Before I do anything—before I check my phone, drink coffee, or start my responsibilities—I begin my mornings with prayer. This quiet time is special to me. It helps me feel grounded and reminds me that I don’t have to do everything alone. I thank God for another day, for waking me up, and for giving me strength for whatever comes. I share my worries, plans, and uncertainties in prayer, trusting I don’t have to carry it all myself. Starting my day like this gives me peace that worry never could.

After I pray, I give myself a few minutes to be still. I don’t jump out of bed right away. I sit with my thoughts, take deep breaths, and remind myself that today is a new chance to do better, be kinder, and be more present. Life moves quickly, and I’ve learned I don’t need to add pressure at the start of my day. Choosing calm instead of chaos is my way of pushing back against a world that always feels urgent.

After that, I make myself a cup of coffee. The first sip is comforting and feels special. It’s not just about the caffeine; it’s about enjoying a simple pleasure. Holding a warm cup reminds me to slow down and notice the small things. I avoid scrolling through social media right away. Instead, I let the morning happen naturally, without comparing myself or adding extra noise. These moments help me keep my peace and my worries away.

Another important part of my morning routine is practicing gratitude. Sometimes I write in my gratitude journal, which helps me focus on what’s good instead of what’s stressful. Other times, I just think of a few things I’m thankful for, like good health, loved ones, my job, or even the quiet of the morning.
Gratitude reminds me that even on tough days, there’s always something good.

When I start my day with gratitude, my worries feel lighter and easier to handle. Instead of stressing over everything I need to get done, I gently sort out my thoughts. I remind myself that I don’t have to do everything perfectly. I just need to do my best. This way of thinking helps me avoid extra pressure and worry. Life is too short to always feel weighed down by expectations, especially the ones we put on ourselves.

Starting my mornings with prayer, calm, coffee, and gratitude has taught me something important: inner peace is something we can choose.

Worry can always sneak in if we let it, but so can hope, faith, and joy. When problems come, as they always do, I feel more ready to face them because I started my day with purpose, not fear. Life is always a little uncertain, but worrying too much only keeps me from really living. By choosing a peaceful start, I choose myself. I choose faith over fear, gratitude over stress, and being present over panic.

Life really is too short to worry too much, and my mornings are my daily promise to live that truth—one prayer, one breath, and one sip of coffee at a time.

Bendiciones 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

How lovely your morning begins! You start by placing your day in the Lord's hands, having genuine communication with Him through prayer. Then, you give thanks for all that you have, and doing this puts you in a state of gratitude, reminding you that even bad moments have a purpose in our lives. And to end your day, a delicious coffee reminds you that you deserve good moments, and that, like coffee, they should be savored slowly. It was a pleasure reading your post. Good luck in the contest. Blessings 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
