Peacocks are indeed a majestic bird; beautiful in so many ways! I have a neighbor who used to have them. One of the, a boy I nameed Wellington, would escape home and come to our house. He only had one foot, but did quite well that way. He would sit up in the cedar tree and announce when I got home. He would greet me everyday both going to and coming home from work. On the weekends, he would be in the yard, and when I would approach, he would stand next to me, splay his feathers in all their glory and
'drum'; the sound they make when showing off. He would allow me to stroke his beautiful tail feathers. He was never aggressive towards me. He usually hung around until his owners would show up and capture him to take him home. He did this for 3 years. I don't know what happened to him, but he no longer comes. It was a beautiful encounter!
