It is sad; once, a few years back, I went to an arthritis doc at my DIL's insistence. The doc I was seeing was female. Even though it's evidenced through just visually looking at me, that I have arthritis. Anyway, she kept asking me if everything was okay at home. It didn't take me long to say adios to her and never go back, even though she did have an X-ray done of my back where it was indicated I had moderate arthritis there. That was 11 years ago and I've not been to a doc since for anything.
I just deal with things on my own. It makes one a little gun-shy to even think about going to a doc.
I don't even know what to say; docs do not want to treat all of you-just pieces of you, and that's a whole another story altogether.
Take care and hang in there. 🤗
I am so sorry. It's awful to be dismissed and though drs and healthcare workers are supposed to ask once if you are safe at home (to every patient) they often get fixated that women's physical problems are (emotional) stress. This does not happen to men as a default unless you are a man of color or have female dominant conditions. It dates back to Freud who was a raging misogynist and has caused countless harm to everyone, especially women. I hope you are dealing with it the best you can. it's not uncommon for women to avoid the dr altogether when new or worsening symptoms arise because of dr's failure to treat and medical trauma. !BBH
