BRIEF BURIAL OF MY PARENTS THAT TOOK PLACE DURING THE WEEKEND

Greetings hivians.

This past weekend, we finally laid my beloved parents to rest.

It was not easy.
It was not a celebration of just one person, but two pillars of my life, my father and my mother.

For years, I have kept their photos, kept their memories, kept their words in my heart. But on Saturday, I had to carry their faces in my hands, not as photos on the wall, but as the last journey to their resting place.

The road was dusty.
The sun was hot.
People were everywhere,
family,
friends,
church members,
villagers,
well-wishers.

Some were crying while some were singing, some were just walking quietly.

As I walked holding my father's portrait, every step reminded me of what he taught me.

My father taught me to be a man of truth.
My mother taught me to be a man of love.

The band was playing, the caskets were being carried behind us, but my mind was far away remembering how my mother used to call my name, how my father used to advise me about life's principles.

Many people asked me, how are you strong?

The truth is, I am not strong.
But I only have peace because they lived a fulfilled life.
They saw their children grow.
They left a good name and a good name is better than gold.

To everyone who came from far and near, who called, who messaged, who prayed, who supported me, God bless you.
You turned my tears into strength.

To my parents, rest well.
Your journey on earth has ended, but your legacy lives on...

I will not forget you.
