If someone asks me what my favorite color is, my answer will be so simple, Black, yes, Black remains my favourite colour.
It may sound a little strange, but I honestly love it. Most of the clothes I wear are black wears, and even when I take pictures, I usually prefer black and white features.

Guess, what I don't really know when this love for black started, but somehow, it has become a big part of me.
Where I come from that's Nigeria, black is mostly connected to mourning that is when someone dies, people are mandated to wear black. Because of this, many people see black as a color of sadness, death, or bad news.
But I don't see black that way, black is way more than mourning
Black to me represents confidence, the strength I willed, my elegance, the peace I have, and even simplicity.

It is a color that does not need to shout before you notice it.
I love how black makes me feel whenever I wear it, i feel so comfortable it's as if I'm wearing confident. I feel like myself.
There is something about putting on a black outfit that makes me feel put together, even when I didn't try too hard, probably that is why I connect with it so much.
As a first child, especially a first daughter, I have grown up understanding what it means to carry expectations. You are often expected to be responsible, strong, and sometimes to know what you are doing even when you are still figuring things out yourself, that is why for me, black represents that quiet kind of strength.
It reminds me that I don't always have to be loud to be strong nor to follow what everyone else is doing to be beautiful, I can simply be myself.
One of the reasons, I sometimes imagine having a black wedding gown someday.
Yes, a black wedding gown, like everything being in black colour, if I can have it my way. Not because I want to reject tradition, but because I don't think every beautiful thing has to follow the usual pattern.
Sometimes, it is okay to choose what feels like you.
When I see black, I experience calmness, when I put on black, I wear confidence and when I choose black, I feel like I am choosing myself in it
So, while some people see black as a color of loss, I see it as a color of strength, beauty, and identity.
Maybe that is why I love it so much, it isnt about looking good but black feels like me and black don't craq
