I think it is a topic of great debate.
Just as you mentioned the circumstances of African couples, same is the case in my country, Pakistan.
In some cases women are deprived. In other cases women only seem to play woman card.
I personally think that a world without either of the gender become troublesome.
And unfortunately, I cannot say a women alone world would be free of envy. According to my observation there will be more envy.

Yes I agree with your views too, we all have different experience about this, my greatest concern is that, the girl child should be given more value always.
