Witty is a witness, a wordsmith, the "crypto pimp", a US Veteran, the founder of the Alliance, host of the Block Party, Splinterlands player, a silver gold stacker, a fisherman, a father and a friend to SO MANY of us. He has spent years of helping tons of people gain their footing on Steem and now Hive. Today it is our turn to help him.


Last night, while out of town with his three girls, Witty received the news his home was on fire. He has since shared photos in the alliance discord. There is extensive damage and several of his family's beloved pets lost their lives. I can only imagine the upheaval this kind of loss would bring to someone's life.

To do SOMETHING to help @enginewitty with his family's immediate and long term needs @summertooth and I (@dfinney) would like to suggest the following ways to help:

  1. Send hive donations to either this account @ewfund or directly to @enginewitty. Witty has the keys to this account. As do I and @summertooth. @thekittygirl also shares this account's posting key. I am not sure if Hive is immediately useable, but we know this is an easy way for folks on the blockchain to contribute.
  2. Send donations to Metamask 0x531F2B46BD97947BF7EC4dA7d86fE9BcFff5D3dc
  3. Purchase an Amazon or Walmart e-gift card. These gift cards can be sent to email address: [email protected]
  4. Send PayPal donations to [email protected]

We are also checking to see if there is an appropriate physical address to mail items.

He is such a wonderful person and one who never hesitate to help everyone in every way he can.
He does so much and are such a good friend to us all.
And friends like that is family, and we have each others back.
So ofcourse this is a time when we can give back.

EW is such a kind person and has supported me here and on Steem since I joined in 2018.
To read such tragic news is heart breaking and our thoughts are with him and his family at this difficult time. The community here will come together and support this family in need.

I am so very sorry to hear about this! My heart is sad for you and your girls, happy that you were clear of it and the damage it caused. My heart goes out to your girls, what a thing to happen in their lives.

I'm literally very sad to hear about this, he seems like a kind and nice guy. Don't know much about him as I'm also new and I'll do as much as possible to contribute and help him.

Sorry to hear this sad news. It's never easy losing a pet, they are like family and the pain hurts just as much. Sending hugs, prayers and as much HBD as I have, which isn't much, but every bit helps. 😊

The response from this Hive community on the whole, is remarkable. You're all banding together for a common cause and spreading love like it's free. (It is though, isn't it?) I'm glad your family is ok though, even though a lot of memories are lost, the most important thing is you are safe.

I am sorry for the loss of this family, some time ago I lived a similar story close to my environment. It is very sad to work all your life to lose everything in 10 seconds. Lots of encouragement and strength, the material things can always be recovered, the most important are the people and the beautiful family you have. I send you a hug from Spain.

Sorry for what happened @enginewitty . I just read this post now. May God provides all your needs. I remember we lost three house with my parent. 2 was burned, got on fire too amd one house was damage by the eartquake. I knew the feeling though the first house happened when I was 15 years old.
