Korea: First Impression

Back then, when we were growing up, I wasn't opportune to watch Korean movies because they were not popular in my home. We were only based on Nigerian movies and Hollywood action movies. It was when I had grown, started using a phone, and was in the final stage of secondary school that I got introduced to the Korean world through movies. I was impressed and got glued to watching the particular movie, and below are the things that impressed me from there and have remained so till today:

The language:

There’s a way the Korean language sounds in the ear, it sounds so soothing and entertaining, and it gets to the peak when someone who is not Korean has developed so much love for the culture and language. When I started watching the movies, of course, I used and still use subtitles, but even at that, my ears are always open to collect the words into them, even though I do not understand a bit. Many times, I have wished to learn the language, but eagerly sitting down with the Duolingo app or learning it from any source in a very serious way has been difficult for me. Instead, I decided to let it flow as I watch movies, paying attention to the sounds and reading the subtitles too. But even with this, I have only been able to capture a few words, and I know that if I need to learn it quickly, I must follow the process of understanding the alphabet first. The language really impressed me a lot.

Their natural look: The Koreans’ natural look is one that captured my heart so easily. I got impressed by their look to the extent that I began to compare, especially when watching TV and finding a Korean face in the midst of different white people. I used to think Chinese and Korean people had the same face, but no, the Koreans are different and are easy to differentiate for people who know the difference.

Thanks!
