The "government" try to patch the situation with a controlled opening of the economy. In paper private economic operators will have more opportunities and freedom, but the reality show some different.
The private sector is under the constant pressure of losing everything under government sanctions. This means that state bureaucrats can close private business just because under fake acussations. Prosecutors, judges and executors have the same boss, the Cuban Comunista Party.
Many cubans believe that this measures are just a cover to legally adjudicate the Cuba resources and wealth into the hands of the government elite and political oligarchs. Licitation process are secret and unaccesible. Contratos and benefits usually are allocated to family members or associates of the regime.
Meanwhile, agricultural producers aren't getting pay for their labor. In an long data situation, corruption and incompetence causes million aire debts with farmers. This is one of the reasons of te historical low food production of the country.
Social
Lack of medicines, high cost of food, and political repression are the constant in Cuba. When this fact changes I will report it.
