It's 🍻 Uptober, Everyone! Time to Celebrate & Power Up Some HIVE
I'm finally doing my part in strengthening the community by powering up on October 1st, 2026.
I don't have much HIVE yet 🦥, so I'm quite happy to reach Level 1 by powering up 10 HIVE. This would get me the Small Bee Badge, which can be seen in my HiveBuzz page at hivebuzz.me/@bulkovam.
If you've been reading about #HPUD, #PUD or HIVE Power Up Day mentioned here and there, but not really understanding what it is and how it works, well... I guess it's time to find out.

Powering Up Through the Keychain
We can power up through every platform on Hive, be it Peakd, SlothBuzz, Ecency, so long as there's a wallet option. But this time I am powering up through the Keychain, a custody web3 wallet, which I have already installed as a browser extension.
The keychain can be downloaded through the Hive Keychain website as an app or as a browser extension 🐝 hive-keychain.com
Powering Up Step By Step
That's it! In just 1-2-3-4 steps, I've completed my first Power Up Day this October. Once the power up was successful, I checked back my HiveBuzz section. There was a gift box ready to be unwrapped.
The next day I finally received a Level 1 Small Bee Badge for powering up 10 HIVE. You can see the Small Bee in action the banner of my post on the top of this page 🍯🐝
This small action has positioned me in the ranking of #224 out of, at the time of writing, a total of 380 participants. I read about this little site that has all the statistics of the current (and past) Power Up Days in @relf87's post.

Let's Power Through Uptober 🥳🎊
Participating in the PUD automatically registers me as eligible for the Power Up Month challenge, so I thought why not give it a try?
If I choose to post daily every day for the whole month, I might miss a day. But... and this just occurred to me as I was writing this today, I've already missed a day! 😅 October 1st I did only one power up and not a 100% HP post.
So I guess we CAN mix these two things up. My plan is to just give it a go and see what happens at the end of Uptober. I'll be powering up 1 HIVE a day or dedicating one of my daily posts to 100% HP.
What about you? Are you powering up through October? Or perhaps you've done a whole month before?
I haven't set a yearly or monthly or some type of goal for myself on Hive yet. I should do that and try to track my growth regularly. And I've been tinkering for a couple of weeks now! Needless to say, I am not at all in my comfort zone here #BusyBees. It's hard to decide based off of my current inconsistency and lack of focus. I guess I'll just have to lurk around a bit and learn from others.

In many ways the power-ups and growth feel really cool early on. I used to make little games out of everything, reputation score, HP, comments, post totals, just to make it more gamified, but then again, I am a little bit weird!
I found your post through @rozioo's Hive Town game - post promotion, I love the idea of the game not just being a game, it brings the Hive community and user's posts to the attention of others, which is a cool way to meet new friends here.
So... uhm... Here I am! 😁

Thank you so much for stopping by! That's a cool theory. Steps are steps no matter how small... staying positive... especially as newcomers we can sometimes focus too much on the numbers instead of the bigger picture 🌱
It feels like gamification has been turning lives upside down, sideways and inside out 😄 Just a few years ago if you let's say failed at something, it was just "bad luck". Now you get a shiny badge called "Smile and Bear It" and 10 experience points for resilience! 🏅
I'm grateful that Hive Town brought you here. One of the things I love most about games like this is how they seamlessly blend community interaction with gameplay, instead of gaming for the sake of gaming alone. @rozioo's Hive Town helps people discover posts, connect with one another, and meet fellow Hivers they might never have come across otherwise.

Just one thing... You may have a problem with badge obsession 😁 You should maybe get a little help with that, then you could earn the 'healed badge!'.

Congratulations on your first Power Up Day and on the Small Bee badge! 🐝🍯 Your step-by-step guide with Keychain is really clear: perfect for newcomers who still don't know how it works.
As a farmer, I see powering up a bit like planting seeds: 1 HIVE a day seems small, but with patience and consistency, at the end of the month you'll have a nice little field growing. 🌱 And don't worry about having already "missed" a day: mixing daily power ups and 100% HP posts is a great plan!

Complimenti per il tuo primo Power Up Day e per il badge Small Bee! 🐝🍯 La tua guida passo passo con Keychain è davvero chiara: perfetta per i nuovi arrivati che ancora non sanno come funziona.
Da agricoltore, vedo il power up un po' come piantare dei semi: 1 HIVE al giorno sembra poco, ma con pazienza e costanza, a fine mese avrai un bel campetto che cresce. 🌱 E non preoccuparti di aver già "saltato" un giorno: alternare power up giornalieri e post al 100% HP è un ottimo piano!

I like the farming comparison. Powering up does feel a lot like planting seeds. That's the kind of mindset I'm trying to build.
