I watched this movie a week ago without any apparent reason, just for that "early year extraction" mood, haha. To be honest, I didn't have much faith in it at first. Seeing Chris Hemsworth (our beloved Thor) playing a Rambo-style mercenary felt a bit weird, but man, does he deliver. From the poster alone, you already know there’s going to be a lot of lead flying around, and it doesn't disappoint.

Tyler Rake is a fearless black-market mercenary with nothing left to lose. He is hired for his deadliest mission yet: rescuing the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord in Dhaka, Bangladesh. But in the murky underworld of weapons and drug traffickers, a mission that is already near-impossible becomes a chaotic race for survival.
🎭 Analysis and Rating
The movie is a pure adrenaline rush. What surprised me the most was the cinematography; the camera movement feels fresh and extremely dynamic. It’s a mix of character tracking, sharp turns, and zooms that keep you right in the middle of the chaos. While it borders on "superhero fantasy" because of how much damage the protagonist survives (seriously, I don't know how he's still standing after those hits), the plot remains engaging enough to keep you hooked beyond just the explosions.
The Positive:
The Camera Work: The movement is very immersive and feels different from your average action flick.
The Setting: Exploring the streets of India and Bangladesh gives it a unique and gritty atmosphere.
The "Oner": A breathtaking 12-minute sequence shot that simulates a single continuous take. It’s a masterpiece of coordination.
The Disappointing:
Protagonist Invincibility: Sometimes it’s hard to ignore that he survives things that would kill three normal people.
The Ending (Initially): At first, it leaves you with a "wait, that's it?" feeling, though after reflecting on it, you start to understand the direction they took.
🏆 Fun Fact
The 12-minute action sequence is actually a "fake" long take. It consists of several scenes digitally stitched together to look continuous—a technique that requires extreme planning. Also, Director Sam Hargrave was a stunt coordinator for Marvel movies, which explains why the hand-to-hand combat feels so brutal and physical.
⭐ Final Verdict
If you want a movie to enjoy with a large bowl of popcorn and you love high-octane action, this is definitely for you. It’s fun, intense, and visually impressive.

⚖️ Primera Impresión
Vi hace una semana esta película de acción, sin ninguna razón aparente, solo por esa necesidad de "extracción" de comienzos de año, jaja. Siendo honesto, no le tenía mucha fe al principio. Ver a Chris Hemsworth (nuestro Thor) haciendo de un mercenario tipo Rambo es raro, pero me parece que lo hizo muy bien. Ya por la portada sabes que va a haber plomo que jode, y la película cumple lo que promete.

Tyler Rake es un mercenario intrépido que ofrece sus servicios en el mercado negro y que no tiene nada que perder. Su vida cambia cuando es contratado para una misión peligrosa: rescatar al hijo secuestrado de un capo de la mafia que está en prisión. La acción se desarrolla en los entornos caóticos de Dhaka, Bangladesh, donde lo que parece un rescate directo se convierte en una lucha brutal por salir con vida.
🎭 Análisis y Valoración
Es una película de acción pura y dura. El estilo de movimiento de cámaras me pareció nuevo y muy dinámico; hay un seguimiento de personajes y unos giros bruscos que te meten de lleno en la pelea. Por supuesto, es una película que roza lo fantasioso con escapadas insólitas; esta vez nuestro protagonista no es que solo tiene un rasguño, sino que no sé cómo queda vivo de tantas heridas y golpes,😂. Pero a pesar de eso, la trama en la India y Bangladesh te mantiene interesado hasta el final.
Lo Rescatable:
Dirección de cámara: Los acercamientos y giros le dan una energía única que no aburre.
La ambientación: Las locaciones se sienten reales y crudas, dándole un toque distinto a la acción convencional.
El Plano Secuencia: Un impresionante "falso plano secuencia" de 12 minutos que es, por mucho, lo mejor de la película.
Lo Decepcionante:
Resistencia sobrehumana: A veces se pasan de la raya con lo que el protagonista puede aguantar físicamente.
El final abierto: Al comienzo te sientes un poco decepcionado porque te deja con dudas, pero después lo procesas y te contestas solo.
🏆 Dato Curioso
La escena de acción de 12 minutos no es una sola toma continua, sino varias escenas unidas digitalmente para que parezca una, una técnica que requiere una planificación extrema. Además, el director Sam Hargrave comenzó su carrera como doble de riesgo en Marvel, lo que explica por qué los combates se sienten tan físicos y reales.
⭐ Veredicto Final
Si te gusta la acción, es súper recomendada para sentarte con las palomitas de maíz. Vas a pasar un rato muy divertido y visualmente cargado de adrenalina.
