I probably wouldn't have known this film existed if you hadn't posted this. I was actually in a test audience for the original while at uni and we got to see it before it was in theaters. The original was so amazing and the people in the cinema were legit scared while watching it.
I'll probably end up checking this out even though I do think they have really milked this cow nearly to death.

That is really interesting to hear about the test audience bit. I always wondered how that worked as I think there is a questionnaire that you fill out or something similar?
100% agree on the original being something really special and memorable. The fright was certainly brought out by the horror maestro himself, Wes Craven.
Sequelitis, it's a killer and then the reboot or requel in this case as we know 😀

I think they record the audience reaction because we all had to sign a release form. I didn't notice the cameras pointed at us but that is normally the only reason why you have to sign these things. We all had to fill out a 1 page questionnaire at the end. I'm pretty sure everyone gave it really high marks. I know I did.
