State of the EU 😂 (Meme)
Dieser Tweet sagt leider einiges über den Zustand der EU aus. Trotz wirtschaftlicher Stärke, gemeinsamer Binnenmarkt, Militär/Verteidungs-Bündnis (NATO und EU-Beistandspflicht, zusammen hinter den USA die höchsten Militärausgaben der Welt) ist die EU geopolitisch ein Leichtgewicht. Und selbst wenn die EU zusammentreffen würde, könnte sie sich nicht auf eine gemeinsame Linie einigen.
Einzelne EU-Mitgliedsstaaten vertreten völlig konträre Standpunkte, die von der bindungslosen Unterstützung für einen Krieg gegen den Iran bis zur totalen Ablehnung reichen. Dazwischen der heuchlerische Standpunkt "Völkerrecht", das aber in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten auch im Westen nie eine Bedeutung hatte. Es geht bei Kriegen immer um Macht und Einfluss, nie um das Völkerrecht.
Mit moralischer Überlegenheit kann man keine Kriege gewinnen.

Unfortunately, this tweet says a lot about the state of the EU. Despite its economic strength, common internal market, military/defense alliance (NATO and EU mutual defense clause, together behind the US with the highest military spending in the world), the EU is a geopolitical lightweight. And even if the EU were to come together, it would not be able to agree on a common line.
Individual EU member states hold completely contradictory positions, ranging from unconditional support for a war against Iran to a total rejection. In between is the hypocritical position of “international law,” which has never been significant in the West in recent decades. Wars are always about power and influence, never about international law.
Moral superiority does not win wars.

Just as an aside. The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 deliberately on a Sunday morning, at a time when they expected most of the crew to be attending mass.
Following this logic, I understand that Iran was attacked during Ramadan. And because of the element of surprise, Israel attacked on Shabbat.
If we review the history of wars in European countries, it's best they stay entertained because nobody has ever beaten them at waging war.
