OpenClaw not so crypto-friendly? has strict Discord rules against crypto, every mention of crypto gets you banned, because of bad xp with crypto scammers.

Der Gründer von OpenClaw hat während dem Umbenennen von Clawdbot in Moltbot wie berichtet negative Erfahrungen mit (Krypto-)Scammern gemacht, die den neuen Namen gehijacked haben, um Shitcoins und Scam-Tokens unter dem neuen Namen zu bewerben.

Wie jetzt bekannt wurde, hat OpenClaw daher sehr strikte Regeln gegen Crypto implementiert und blockiert sofort User auf Discord, die nur irgendetwas mit "crypto" zu tun haben.

Finde diese Vorgehensweise nach den negativen Erfahrungen verständlich, aber Crypto generell als Scam einzustufen auch überzogen.

Das wäre so ähnlich, als würde man E-Mails komplett ablehnen und blockieren, da ohne Filter > 99% der E-Mails für Spam missbraucht werden. Trotzdem gibt es auch hin und wieder legitime E-Mails, die nicht von Spammern verschickt werden.

Nicht die Technologie ist das Problem, sondern wie sie von den Humams verwendet wird.

Ironischerweise trifft das auch auf OpenClaw selbst zu.

Man kann OpenClaw für das Entwickeln von nützlicher Open-Source-Software einsetzen (Agentic Coding, Vibe Coding mit Agenten) oder einfache Aufgaben auf dem PC automatisieren (wie das Kategorisieren von E-Mails oder das Erstellen von Social-Media-Dashboards/Briefings), aber auch für shady oder sogar illegale Dinge nutzen, Spam und Agenden auf Social Media zu verbreiten und Meinungen mittels AI-Claw-Bot-Farmen zu manipulieren. Früher wurde das mit menschlichen Troll-Farmen gemacht, mittlerweile lässt sich das mittels Bots und AI automatisieren.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Warum ist OpenClaw so negativ gegenüber Krypto?

As reported, the founder of OpenClaw had negative experiences with (crypto) scammers while renaming Clawdbot to Moltbot, who hijacked the new name to promote shitcoins and scam tokens under the new name.

As has now become known, OpenClaw has therefore implemented very strict rules against crypto and immediately blocks users on Discord who have anything to do with “crypto.”

I find this approach understandable after the negative experiences, but classifying crypto in general as a scam is also excessive.

That would be like completely rejecting and blocking emails because without filters, > 99% of emails are misused for spam. Nevertheless, there are also legitimate emails from time to time that are not sent by spammers.

The problem is not the technology, but how people use it.

Ironically, this also applies to OpenClaw itself.

OpenClaw can be used to develop useful open source software (agentic coding, vibe coding with AI agents) or to automate simple tasks on the PC (such as categorizing emails or creating social media dashboards/briefings), but it can also be used for shady or even illegal things, such as spreading spam and agendas on social media and manipulating opinions using AI claw bot farms. In the past, this was done with human troll farms, but now it can be automated using bots and AI.

What do you guys think? Why is OpenClaw so negative towards crypto?

I guess when you spend your days fighting off shitcoin scammers who stole your brand, you start seeing everyone in a hoodie as a threat! 😂 But seriously, you're right, OpenClaw itself is a double-edged sword. It can organize your inbox or it can flood the world with AI trolls.

Mich hat openclaw motiviert, etwas Eigenes mithilfe von KI zu basteln. jetzt habe ich einen lustigen lokalen Agenten, den ich via Telegram steuern kann. Er kann sich Dinge merken, wenn ich ::save schreibe. Er kann Befehle in der Shell ausführen, wenn ich es ihm erlaube. Er interpretiert was ich meinen könnte und schlägt mir einen Befehl vor.

Naja, die Grammatik geht nicht so ganz. Man kann ihm in der Systemprompt einen bestimmten Charakter zuweisen, also wie er sich verhalten soll. Das ist zT spannend, wie sich das Verhalten der KI dann ändert.
