Konkret handelt es sich um eine 10 Milliarden Subvention der EU.

Die EU gibt mehr für Landwirtschafts-Subventionen aus als für KI, und China und die USA investieren Hunderte, wenn nicht sogar Tausende Milliarden, in KI-Rechenzentren.

Finde die Ansage im KI-Rennen aufholen zu wollen, aber grundsätzlich richtig, aber die geringe Summe ist lächerlich, im Vergleich zu den Investments in den USA und China und dass es in der EU anscheinend nur mit Subventionen geht, aber nicht mit privatem Risikokapital.

The President of the European Commission has once again received a Community Note on X for claiming in a post that she wants to make Europe the “first AI continent”, that is, a leader in the field of AI, with a comparatively minimal subsidy.

Specifically, this refers to a 10-billion subsidy from the EU.

The EU spends more on agricultural subsidies than on AI, and the subside is dwafed by China and the U.S. investments in AI data centers, that are worth hundreds of billions if not trillions.

I think the announcement that the EU wants to catch up in the AI race is fundamentally the right way, but the small amount is ridiculous compared to the investments in the U.S. and China, and the fact that in the EU, it apparently only works with subsidies, not with private venture capital.
