Crowd funding initiative to build a Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Vienna, Austria 🤩
Bitcoin Austria hat eine Crowd-Funding-Initiative gestartet, um eine Satoshi Nakamoto-Statue in Wien zu errichten.
Die Statue soll im gleichen Design aus Edelstahl der bekannten Satoshi-Statue aus Lugano (Schweiz) des Künstlers Valentina Picozzi (Satoshigallery) gestaltet werden.
Als idealer Standort soll das Startup-Viertel Zwei im 2. Bezirk in Wien neben dem WU-Wien-Campus ausgewählt worden sein.
Gesammelt sollen bis Ende April 2026 1.35 Bitcoin, um das Projekt zu finanzieren. Für 210K Satoshis (0.0021 BTC) kann man auch seinen Namen (oder Pseudonym) im öffentlichen Support-Ledger verewigen. Ab 0.042 BTC kann man auch mit einem Logo auf der Projektseite als Supporter aufscheinen.
Bis jetzt wurden bereits über 0.273 BTC gespendet, was ungefähr 20% des Ziels ausmacht. Hoffe, dass bis April die notwendige Summe erreicht wird, da ansonsten das Projekt nicht umgesetzt wird.

Bitcoin Austria has launched a crowdfunding initiative to build a Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Vienna, Austria.
The statue will be designed in the same stainless steel style as the famous Satoshi statue in Lugano, Switzerland, by artist Valentina Picozzi (Satoshigallery).
As the ideal location the startup zone "Viertel Zwei" in Vienna's 2nd district, next to the Vienna University of Economics campus, was chosen.
The goal is to raise 1.35 Bitcoin by the end of April 2026 to finance the project. For 210K Satoshis (0.0021 BTC), you can also have your name (or pseudonym) immortalized in the public support ledger. Starting at 0.042 BTC, you can also appear as a supporter with a logo on the project page.
So far, over 0.273 BTC has been donated, which is about 20% of the target. I hope that the necessary amount will be reached by April, otherwise the project will not be implemented.

Finde ich eine coole Idee :) aber ich denke nicht das die Spenden ausreichen dennoch hoff ich es. Aber bis April ist nicht mehr viel Zeit!

As long as the price is fair and no one earns exploiting out of it, I like the idea... I wonder how they will get the rights to put it in public
Copyright agreement with the artist who will be comissioned to build it. Simple. Have it set up by a lawyer if the plans are for publications as well, such as in books, magazines, selling t-shirts etc.
Otherwise, if it is in a public place, it is the so called Panoramafreiheit for photos - this link is in German, but look for it with Google under 'Monumentfreedom' for the english version.
Well, if the people over there see the importance of it being done, or how valuable and aesthetic it would be, then, they can go ahead and support the project.
Over her, people might get scared about the initiative cause it is crowd funding. Why? Because a lot people have been scammed via such means.
