Hat eine einfache Website früher mehrere Tausend Euro gekostet, reduziert sich die Entwicklung jetzt mit Hilfe von KI-Agenten auf einen Bruchteil.

Die Kostensenkung ist aber noch nicht 100% in der Wirtschaft angekommen. Viele Webagenturen verrechnen noch die alten Preise, arbeiten aber im Hintergrund bereits mit den KI-Modellen.

Ich schätze mittlerweile den Produktivitästzuwachs mit Hilfe von Vibe Coding auf 10x bis 100x. Das ist wirklich heftig.

Der limitierende Faktor sind jetzt Tokens, habe mein wöchentliches Token-Budget bereits an einem Tag verbraucht.

Um die Kostenreduktion etwas besser abschätzen zu können, hier die Zahlen.

Eine Krypto-App (auf Hive) zu entwickeln hat bis jetzt kumuliert oft mehrere Hunderttausend bis Millionen Dollar gekostet. Oft Payouts von 100 bis 1000 Dollar, pro Tag, über mehrere Monate oder Jahre, über Hive Proposals (DAO) finanziert.

Eine normale, einfache Website kann in AT zwischen 1000 und 5000 Euro kosten.

Eine App oft 10,000 Euro und aufwärts. Größere Apps das 10-Fache.

Das Entwickeln des ersten Prototyps von crpytospace77 hat mich bis jetzt ungefähr 90 Dollar an Tokens gekostet. Plus mein 30 Dollar Supergrok-Abo.

Lumen, ein weiteres neues Hive-Interface, wurde um 200 Dollar entwickelt.

Eine einfache Website lässt sich vielleicht sogar schon um 50 Dollar vibe coden.

Diese Kostenreduktion ist wirklich heftig, aber man braucht trotzdem noch einen erfahrenen Coder um die KIs zu prompten und dann die Bugs auszubessern. Obwohl die KIs das irgendwann vielleicht auch selbstständig können.

Aber 1 Coder kann jetzt mittels KI eine ganze App implementieren, wofür man früher ein ganzes Lab mit Dutzenden oder Hunderten Entwicklern angestellt hat.

Andererseits muss man diesen 1 Coder dann auch wieder gut bezahlen und eine App-Entwicklung besteht nicht nur aus Coding, sondern auch aus vielen anderen Jobs, zwischenmenschlichen Herausforderungen, Analyse, Marketing etc.

Vielleicht verschiebt sich die Jobwelt in Zukunft einfach, weg von Coding, Richtung den anderen 1000 Dingen darum herum.

The cost of developing websites and apps is currently plummeting by several orders of magnitude thanks to advances in new coding agents.

Whereas a simple website used to cost several thousand euros, development costs are now reduced to a fraction of that amount with the help of AI agents.

However, this cost reduction has not yet fully taken hold in the business world. Many web agencies are still charging the old prices, but are already working with AI models behind the scenes.

I now estimate the productivity gain achieved with Vibe Coding to be between 10x and 100x. That’s really insane.

The limiting factor now is tokens, I’ve already used up my weekly token budget in a single day.

To get a better sense of the cost savings, here are the numbers.

Developing a crypto app (on Hive) has often cost several hundred thousand to millions of dollars cumulatively so far. This often involves payouts of $100 to $1,000 per day, over several months or years, funded through Hive Proposals (DAO).

A normal, simple website can cost between 1,000 and 5,000 euros in Austria.

An app often costs 10,000 euros and up. Larger apps cost 10 times that amount.

A simple website might even be vibe-coded for as little as $50.

This cost reduction is truly massive, but you still need an experienced coder to prompt the AIs and then fix the bugs. Although the AIs might eventually be able to do that on their own as well.

But one coder can now use AI to implement an entire app, something that used to require hiring an entire lab with dozens or hundreds of developers.

On the other hand, you still have to pay that one coder well, and app development isn’t just about coding, it also involves many other tasks, interpersonal challenges, analysis, marketing, and so on.

Maybe the job market will simply shift in the future, away from coding and toward the other 1,000 things surrounding it.
