Bad news for UK: Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland seek to join the EU without England.

Schlechte Nachrichten für UK. Wales, Schottland und Nordirland haben einen Pakt unterzeichnet, indem sie die Zusammenarbeit stärken und in die EU streben wollen, und jetzt haltet euch fest, der Pakt wurde ohne England unterzeichnet.

Rechtlich ist es nicht so einfach möglich, ohne Zustimmung von London, Westminister UK zu verlassen, auch Unabhängigkeits-Referenden können nicht ohne Englands Zustimmung stattfinden.

Aber politisch ist es kein gutes Zeichen für die britische Union, wenn drei von vier Mitgliedern lieber bei der EU als in UK dabei wären.

Denke langfristig könnte dieser Konflikt nur dadurch gelöst werden, dass UK als Ganzes wieder der EU betritt, dann würde sich auch die Problematik mit Nordirland/Irland wieder entschärfen.

Andererseits ist die EU auch in Großbritannien nicht überall so beliebt. Die EU steht selber vor riesigen Herausforderungen, wie Kriege, Wettrüsten (Rearm Europe), Energiekrise, Überregulierung, der zu einem Anschlussverlust im wichtigen KI, IT und Fintech-Sektor geführt hat.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Denkt ihr, dass UK langfristig wieder der EU beitreten wird oder dass auch UK irgendwann zerfallen könnte? Ist es besser die großen Herausforderungen zentral in einer Union oder dezentral als Nationalstaaten zu lösen? Wäre letzteres überhaupt im globalen Kontext möglich?

Bad news for the UK. Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland have signed a pact to strengthen cooperation and seek membership in the EU, and now, brace yourselves, the pact was signed without England.

Legally, it’s not that simple to leave the UK without London’s consent, even independence referendums cannot take place without England’s approval.

But politically, it's not a good sign for the United Kingdom if three out of four members would rather be part of the EU than part of the UK.

I think in the long run, this conflict could only be resolved if the UK as a whole rejoined the EU, that would also defuse the issue with Northern Ireland and Ireland.

On the other hand, the EU isn’t universally popular in the UK either. The EU itself faces enormous challenges, such as wars, an arms race (Rearm Europe), an energy crisis, and overregulation, which has led to a loss of competitiveness in the crucial AI, IT, and fintech sectors.
