A new way to search your hive blog posts. Introducing Hive Post Search.

Hive Post Search ist neues Tool der Hive Toolbox, mit der ihr eure eigenen Postings oder die Postings eines bestimmten Accounts nach Keywords durchsuchen könnt.

Da die Hive API Nodes keinen Full-Text-Search-Index betreiben, ist das Suchen nach Hive-Artikeln immer sehr mühsam und langsam gewesen.

Ein Problem, das viele sicher auch von anderen Social-Media nur allzu gut kennen. Suche war nie eine Stärke von Social Media.

Aber wenn man die Suche auf einen bestimmten User einschränkt, ist es auf Hive möglich, auch ohne Index nach Keywords zu suchen.

Als besonderes Feature und, um die Suche noch weiter zu beschleunigen, kann die App auch euer Blog-Archiv in Form einer json-Datei, die ihr vorher mit dem Blog Downloader heruntergeladen habt, lokal durchsuchen.

Gebt ihr kein Keyword ein, listet die Suche alle Postings innerhalb des angegebenen Zeitraums.

Wird kein Username angegeben, durchsucht das Tool die Top 500 Trending und 500 neusten Postings.

Möchtet ihr wirklich eine Volltext-Suche über alle User durchführen, empfehle ich auf Google oder Bing auszuweichen und die Suche auf peakd.com oder hive.blog mit dem site-Operator einzuschränken.

Der Nachteil dieser Variante ist allerdings, dass man nicht sicher sein kann, ob Google bzw. Bing wirklich alle Hive-Posts gelistet hat und ausgibt.

Hive Post Search is a new tool in the Hive Toolbox that lets you search your own posts or the posts of a specific account by keywords.

Since Hive API nodes do not maintain a full-text search index, searching for Hive posts has always been very tedious and slow.

This is a problem that many are surely all too familiar not just from hive but also from other social media platforms as well. Search has never been a strong point of social media.

However, if you limit the search to a specific user, it becomes possible on hive to search for keywords even without an index.

As a special feature, and to further speed up the search, the tool can also search your blog archive locally using a JSON file that you’ve previously downloaded with the Blog Downloader.

If you don’t enter a keyword, the search will list all posts within the specified time period.

If no username is specified, the tool searches the top 500 trending and 500 most recent posts.

If you really want to perform a full-text search across all users, I recommend switching to Google or Bing and limiting the search on peakd.com or hive.blog using the “site” operator.

The downside of this approach, however, is that you can’t be sure whether Google or Bing has actually listed and returned all Hive posts.
