The traditional mailer industry is not what you are after, it's combining the best of both worlds on the Hive blockchain making it interesting :)
It's actually adding great value to the platform. Many share their posts, but also other people's valuable content or communities. Also a lot of other stuff outside hive of course, which you can check out if it interests you. If not you can ignore it. Like with everything, on Hive you ignore the posts you don't fancy as well.
