CONCEPT OF A GOOD FAMILY COMMUNICATION

1. Active listening
   Active listening in a family context involves fully concentrating, understanding, responding and remembering what is being said or the information being passed across. Active listening helps a child to fully express his mind and be heard/understood.
2. Explaining feeling
   This is the ability of a child to develp emotional intelligence, it is important for a child to learn to express their feelings, it also helps to give absolute permission for all members to verbalise.
3. Non-verbal communication
   This has to do with a diverse range of signals that goes beyond spoken language, when theres effective and quality communication in the family, the child would be able to also understand non verbal communication. He/she would be able to see sadness, happiness, warning and correction from the parents or siblings even in the absence of speech.
4. It helps to establish family routine
   When there is good family communication, the family could happily plan a get together or a meeting where everyone enjoys the priviledge to freely express his or her mind.

IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION IN THE FAMILY
It enhances freedom of speech especially amidst children, which breeds effective communication.
Its helps parents and children to bond.
It gives room for correction.
It helps to ease mental stress among children and adult.
It is a good way of learning especially for children.
It helps in creation of positive ideas and mental development among children and to parents.
It leads to better understanding and respect among everyone.
In conclusion, I will say every heart that needs to grow deserves to communicate, because through communication quality information is received and passed.
