Nature is a gift that we human beings are unfortunately undervaluing.

Society calls "civilization" living crammed together in cities of cement and glass, where the temperature is noticeably higher than in suburban areas.

In my country, nature is practically scorned by many people who don't understand where the air they breathe comes from, and who cut down trees because fallen leaves "make a mess."

Whereas in my case, our family has always valued nature and the gifts it gives us freely. In the two houses we have lived in, there has always been a garden and fruit trees.

Just yesterday I ate sweet and juicy mangoes for dessert. Today it was the grapes' turn, and in a couple of months there will be abundant avocados.

Sometimes looking at the house I think it would be much easier to live in apartments, but then I regret it, because the peace and energy that nature transmits and having your own yard is priceless.

Listening to the song of cicadas during summer siestas, the song of frogs after the rain, or the chirping of birds lifts the spirit and the heart.

When my parents moved to their current house it was barren land, there wasn't a single tree, and today a few decades later it's practically a forest or an oasis in the neighborhood. Truck drivers, delivery people, or pedestrians always tend to rest under the shade of the garden trees, because believe it or not, it's like arriving at a place with air conditioning, because of the freshness it provides.

It's difficult to choose a favorite flower, tree, or plant, but if I had to choose a single species it would be the pink Tajy, which is a tree with pink flowers that represents the country (Paraguay)quite well, almost like cherry blossoms do for Japan.

Regalos de la Naturaleza

La naturaleza es un regalo que estamos subestimando lamentablemente los seres humanos.

La sociedad llama "civilización" a vivir hacinados en ciudades de cemento y cristal, en los que la temperatura es notablemente más alta que en zonas suburbanas.

En mi país la naturaleza es prácticamente despreciada por muchas personas que no entienden de dónde sale el aire que respiran, y que cortan árboles porque las hojas caídas "ensucian".

Mientras que en mi caso, nuestra familia siempre valoró la naturaleza y los regalos que nos dan gratuitamente. En las dos casas en las que hemos vivido, siempre hubo jardín y árboles frutales.

Ayer nada más me comí como postre dulces y jugosos mangos. Hoy le tocó el turno a las uvas, en un par de meses habrán abundantes aguacates.

A veces mirando la casa pienso que sería mucho más fácil vivir en departamentos, pero después me arrepiento, porque la paz y la energía que transmite la naturaleza y tener tu propio patio no tiene precio.

Escuchar el canto de las cigarras a la siesta en el verano, el canto de las ranas después de la lluvia o el trino de los pájaros alegra el espíritu y el corazón.

Cuando mis padres se mudaron a su actual casa era un terreno yermo, no había un sólo árbol, hoy unas cuántas décadas después es prácticamente un bosque o un oasis en el barrio. Camioneros, repartidores o peatones siempre suelen descansar bajo la sombra de los árboles del jardín, porque aunque no lo crean, es como llegar a un lugar con acondicionador de aire, por la frescura que brinda.

Es difícil elegir una flor, árbol o planta favorita, pero si tuviera que elegir una sola especie sería el Tajy rosado, que es un árbol con flores rosadas que representa bastante al país (Paraguay), casi como los cerezos en flor a Japón.
