The football season is already underway up here in Scotland and tomorrow August 15th the English Premier League kicks off and so will begin a new season of HiveFPL!

Which means that it is less than a day to get your FREE team registered on the app and in our leagues!

Hive is about communities, so a season long football competition is a great reason for making me stay.

Season 24/25 ended up as so so and petered out.

I am in the Hive Division 2 so I need to finish in the top 5 to get promoted to the top division

When does it start?

August 15th!

Spoiler alert, they changed the UI on desktop site and it isfuckingawful.

But ... the app looks good on phone and tablet!

I have joined the main Hive league and the head to head league where I need to finish in the top 5!

Will we lunch the manager this year I wonder ...

We still get £100 million for a squad of 15 players...

I have until tomorrow afternoon to figure out what I am doing ...

I have this draft with no Haaland and no Salah...

It's giving me good vibes. Can they keep scoring like they have been?

New rules and prices?

Prices not so much, there are a few that have changed.

The main rule changes are :

Defensive Contributions Outfield players now get points for defensive actions like clearances, blocks, and tackles. Defenders need 10 of these to get 2 points, while midfielders and forwards need 12 (including ball recoveries).
This makes certain defensive players and defensive midfielders much more valuable.

Two Sets of Chips: You now get two of each chip (Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain, and Bench Boost), one set to be used in the first half of the season and the second set for the second half. Look out for a lot of the pros using Bench boost in GW 1 or 2!

Assist Rule Simplification: The definition of an assist has been tweaked to be less subjective and more consistently awarded, potentially leading to more assists being given out.

Bonus Points System (BPS) Tweaks: The BPS has been adjusted to better reward certain actions, such as goalkeeper saves from shots inside the box and successful tackles.

Extra AFCON Transfers: There will be a top-up of free transfers in Gameweek 16 to help managers deal with players leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations.

It has quite radically changed the game, and now we really are looking at defensive players and what extra points they can harvest!
