Club Football is back and the first gameweek of English football was a really interesting one. We got a bunch of really interesting games and results. We also had a cracking high profile game in that gameweek between Manchester United and Arsenal.
We will talk about a few of those games in this post with more focus on Liverpool's EPL opener... Mostly because I'm a Liverpool fan. Haha.
That was the opening game of the season and kicked off by 8pm, last week Friday. That game was a rollercoaster of emotional sequence of events. It started with the massive respect paid to Diogo Jota and his brother who lost their lives during the break.
The game started off with Liverpool putting up a very decent performance. Ekitike scored in this half of the game. And, just before 30 minutes, a racial abuse incident occurred. Semenyo was the victim of that uninspiring situation. Liverpool responded immediately and the culprit got arrested.
The footballing side of things continued though.
Liverpool scored one more goal at the beginning of the second half. And, by the 59th minute, Frimpong and Kerkez got subbed off for varying reasons. Ekitike also got replaced at some point and Bournmoth started creating chances for themselves.
They were able to bag two goals to get a 2-2 equalizer. Interestingly, both goals were scored by Semenyo. The scoreline remained the same until the 88th minute when Chiesa bagged a goal to put Liverpool ahead.
His celebration was superb!
That was his first EPL goal for Liverpool after spending a year with the club. Salah also stepped up in the additional minutes, just before the end of the game, to score and push the scoreline to 4-2 in favor of Liverpool.
That goal makes Salah the first player in Premier League history to score 10 opening day goals.
Newcastle travelled away to play against Aston Villa. They had to play this without Isak and it was very obvious that they were missing his striking brilliance. They ended up playing a 0-0 draw in a game which was quite uninspiring. Their next game against Liverpool will be an interesting one though.
Tottenham totally obliterated Burnley in a 3-goals attacking masterpiece. They scored all 3 goals without conceding any goal. Kudus who was making his debut for Spurs was quite impressive in that game. He got two assists and totally dominated Burnley. Richarlison also impressed while bagging two goals.
Wolves did not stand any chance against Man City. The Man City I saw in that game is going to be a serious contender if they continue like that for the most part of the season. Tijjani Reijnders who was also making his debut for Man City was quite impressive.
Chelsea's performance in that gameweek was quite surprising. They managed to get a draw against Crystal Palace in a game that could have easily ended with Chelsea being on the losing side. Chelsea fans didn't enjoy that. However, we will see how they will perform this week.
Man United's game against Arsenal was the game of the gameweek on that super Sunday. It was an interesting one with both sides trying to give their best and bag 3 points. New signings on both sides also made their debut and a couple of them had a good game while some others struggled massively. Arsenal got a win on that one.
That's it on the games that caught my attention from gameweek 1. Now, let's look forward to the next gameweek which starts tonight.
West Ham will be at home against Chelsea on this one.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

I can't believe racism still exists in football, a game that makes even strangers to become brothers...hmm so sad.
That's by the way. I believe congratulations are in order 😁
You scored 4 sweet goals against your opponent. That's very nice.
Chelsea has eaten west ham...
It's painful really 😂😭
