Navigating unfortunate events

There are times when everything seems to be going wrong. Nothing seems to go right. I believe everyone has been through that stage, just like I have.

Some years ago, I went through such a period. I had lost a lot of money that period. I was still trying to come to terms and live with it when suddenly my phone went bad.
It was a lot. I had to either repair it or get a new one, and I wasn't in a position for any of that. I had to manage a smaller phone for a while.

The next thing, I fell sick. This was just things going from bad to worse. It was as if life was against me. But I had one ideology that everything works out eventually. I believed it was just a phase. Even though I was also struggling academically, I kept on going and doing the best I could.

I know it's not so easy to keep on going when it seems like everything in your life is going south. Some people become depressed, some retrieve to their shell. However, I didn't let myself get to that level. I chose to focus on the good things happening in my life, no matter how little.

One thing that really helped me cope during that period is my friends. They were phenomenal. They came through for me, we joked and laughed, they helped me out in different aspects when I needed help. This highlights the importance of having great friends. They're the ones who will look out for you when things go south.

Family was also helpful. They gave encouragement, assisted financially and also checked up regularly on me. That was when I realised that the combination of friends and family can never go wrong.

With time, things started getting better, just like I believed. My health got better, I was able to raise enough money to get a new phone and pay my bills.

Today, I look back to that period and it gives me the confidence that anyone can come out of any sad situation in life. It just takes time.
I also realized that focusing on the good, happy things going on in your life, even if it seems like your world is crumbling, can go a long way in helping you cope. In other words, be grateful for the good little things in the midst of the bad.

Finally, nothing lasts forever, and that includes the bad times.
