Virtual reality is a technology field that's growing rapidly day by day because of its various uses and functions, but gaming has been the most prominent field it's used for because of its realistic feeling where one sees himself in the realm of the game and not the usual way of sitting opposite a screen to play the game.
Is virtual reality just hyped for nothing? I haven't experienced it once, and I once joined people to rate down the experience of virtual reality, but when I thought deeply about it, I found out that it's worth the hype it's getting because it takes someone into a virtual world and it feels so real. I know that if I get to experience this one day, I'm definitely going to get addicted to it.
Not just the gaming, it's also used in medicine and other fields, and it also helps in training. Imagine a situation where one finds himself seeing things he was only supposed to imagine, now appearing real as he learns.
Is virtual reality going to steal away people from human and environmental reality quickly?
I don't think virtual reality is going to be capable of taking people away from reality more than simple technology is doing already. I mean, there's not going to be any significant difference because virtual reality is not as common as we have the simple usage of phones in the world. In simple words, not everyone has access to experience virtual reality. Using myself as an example, I haven't experienced it once; I have only read about it and seen videos on how it works. This is not only me, in my area, I'm very sure that there are a lot of people who have never heard of or known anything about it. So it's not going to steal away people that much from reality, except maybe if it becomes rampant in the future, which I doubt, because if it were going to happen, it would have been very common already.
Thanks.
You made some interesting points here. I agree that VR is still far from being as common as smartphones, but the technology is growing fast. Even though many people haven’t experienced it yet, I think as costs come down, we might start seeing it in more homes, especially for education and training.
Maybe you will have the opportunity to use it one day!
I'm looking forward to that day
The medicine part is something I got to know from users entry, I thought VR was just for fun, gaming and entertainment.
Just like AI, it's widely used
Yes that's very through many people don't know about the victual reality
That's true.
I don't think anyone in my compound knows about it
Almost many departments have been utilizing VR. The future holds a lot for VR. Just like AI, it is actually growing and it will continue to grow
Yeah, it'll continue to grow, but I think it's not growing with the rate of the common AI that's trending everywhere
I haven't experienced it also
VR is still in the developing stage, but gradually a lot of people would adopt it. I just hope the consequences doesn't surpass the benefits
